Why States Should Tune Out Washington’s COVID-19 Noise

The federal government continues to offer garbled COVID-19 messages that undermine its credibility and sow confusion about the pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now thinks there are more infections among the vaccinated than it did previously (35,000 weekly with symptomatic infections) and suggests that vaccinated people are helping spread what President Joe Biden calls a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”

Biden, meanwhile, continues his unsuccessful vax-“shaming” campaign. He says that unvaccinated people “aren’t nearly as smart as I thought” and alleges that they “get sick and fill up our hospitals,” denying medical care to heart attack victims.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, of the nation’s more than 919,500 hospital beds, COVID-19-associated hospital admissions totaled just 944 on July 24. That compares with 6,679 such hospital admissions in early January.

The administration’s vaccine campaign also has turned to coercion. The CDC director has voiced support for “vaccine passports,” which deny the unvaccinated access to public venues. The president has ordered unvaccinated federal employees and contractors to submit to frequent testing and workplace restrictions from which their vaccinated colleagues are exempt.

Washington’s frenetic and ineffectual reaction to the most recent run-up in cases points up the virtues of constitutional federalism, a decentralized approach that defers policy decisions to states and localities.

Not everyone agrees.

“When our collective fate relies on speed, efficiency, and unity,” a Journal of the American Medical Association editorial reads, “federalist ideals fall flat.”

“Divided government creates unnecessary challenges for residents of states that are too slow to act or take up federal policies,” it claims.

The Bipartisan Policy Center laments the “patchwork of state responses” and says it’s “vital for states and localities to follow federal evidence-based guidelines.”

A recent analysis of the public policy response to COVID-19 co-authored with my Heritage Foundation colleague Robert Moffitt reached the opposite conclusion. It finds that the country benefited from policies adapted to the varied conditions of states and localities, a principal virtue of federalism.

Advocates of centralized decision-making assume that federal policymakers formulate consistently sound, evidence-based policies. The corollary is that states that deviate from those policies will fare worse than states that adhere to them.

We found both suppositions false.

The CDC made repeated errors in judgment; issued policies that were often unclear, misguided, and not evidence-based; and made recommendations that too often yielded few, if any, public health benefits while inflicting social and economic damage.

Our look at the four most populous states (California, Texas, Florida, and New York) found that the two that spurned CDC-favored policies (Florida and Texas) had comparable or better public health outcomes and far better economic outcomes than the two (California and New York) that closely followed federal agency guidelines.

With a new run-up in cases, it’s vitally important that states strike appropriate policy courses and not accept the CDC’s spasmodic policy declarations at face value.

They should begin by avoiding the CDC’s obsession with case counts.

While higher confirmed case rates raise concerns, they don’t carry the same implications as previous spikes. Unlike last winter’s case surge, vaccination rates among those most susceptible to severe illness and death are high. According to the CDC, 80% of the elderly are fully immunized, and 90% have had at least one shot.

State and local public health officials should instead focus on hospitalizations and deaths.

The experience in the United Kingdom is instructive. Its spike in cases began in late May and only started to subside in late July. But while its seven-day moving average of newly confirmed cases peaked at 703 per million on July 21—not far from the record number of new infections that the U.S. recorded in January—COVID-19-related death rates in the U.K. increased only modestly.

Congress misses key debt-ceiling deadline: What that means, what happens next

Lawmakers missed deadline to extend 2-year suspension of debt ceiling.

Time is running out for Congress to raise, or suspend, the debt ceiling before the U.S. government runs out of cash to pay its bills.

Lawmakers missed a Saturday deadline to extend former President Donald Trump‘s two-year suspension of the nation’s borrowing limit, which was automatically reinstated at the beginning of August.

The debt ceiling, which hit $22 trillion in August 2019, is the legal limit on the total amount of debt that the federal government can borrow on behalf of the public, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB). Once the suspension lifted, the new limit was reinstated around $28.5 trillion, a figure that includes debt held by the public and the government.

On Monday, the Treasury Department began deploying so-called “extraordinary measures” to ensure the government can continue to pay its obligations for the time being. But if the debt ceiling is not raised or suspended, the U.S. government can no longer issue debt and will soon run out of cash on hand.

“The period of time that extraordinary measures may last is subject to considerable uncertainty due to a variety of factors, including the challenges of forecasting the payments and receipts of the U.S. government months into the future, exacerbated by the heightened uncertainty in payments and receipts related to the economic impact of the pandemic,” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen wrote in a recent letter to Congress.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated at the end of July that the government would probably run out of money to pay its bills sometime in the fall, likely October or November. The new debt ceiling, which will include the new spending approved by Congress over the course of the past two years, will likely be around $28 trillion, the CBO said.

It’s unclear how or when lawmakers plan to raise or suspend the debt limit.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said recently that he doesn’t expect any Republican senators to vote to raise the debt ceiling – meaning that unless Democrats can win over at least 10 GOP senators in order to bypass the 60-vote filibuster, they will need to raise the debt limit in their $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.

FDA just ordered covid vaccine manufacturers to use more children for medical experiments and spike protein jabs

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is calling on Pfizer and Moderna to recruit more children into their respective Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccine” trials.

Children between the ages of five and 11 are needed, the FDA insists, to determine whether a “rare” side effect involving heart inflammation is more common among young vaccinated people than it is among older vaccinated people.

The FDA wants at least 3,000 more very young children to be experimentally injected, according to The New York Times, because this will allegedly help the agency determine which ages groups are most negatively affected by Fauci Flu shots.

A spokesperson from Moderna told The Washington Post that it is “actively discussing a proposal” with the FDA to expand its trial “to enroll a larger safety database which increases the likelihood of detecting rare events.” The pharmaceutical giant has not yet indicated the size of that trial.

As for Pfizer, it also announced plans to expand its injection trials to include more innocent children. These children will be recruited from the United States, Finland, Poland and Spain, and will be sent to more than 90 different clinical trial sites around the world.

The FDA and CDC want to murder your children

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that there are now 674 confirmed cases of myocarditis and pericarditis among people aged 30 years and younger who took a Chinese Virus jab.

The vast majority of these cases, which involve inflammation of the heart and the lining that surrounds the heart, occurred in young people who received one or the other of the mRNA (messenger RNA) injections produced by Pfizer and Moderna.

The CDC claims that it and its “partners” are currently in the process of investigating these reports to see “whether there is a relationship to COVID-19 vaccination.”

Back in June, the FDA added a warning to the jabs indicating that they could cause myocarditis or pericarditis, pointing to the manufacturer fact sheets that also say the same thing, “particularly following the second dose.”

Still, the CDC insists that the risk is low and that “everyone 12 years and older” should “get vaccinated as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, the risk of a child testing “positive” for the Fauci Flu is basically zero, and the risk of actually manifesting symptoms is even smaller. Children are safe from the plandemic, in other words – or at least they were until the government came for them, too.

Top Republican Calls For Impeaching Biden And DHS Chief Over Border Crisis

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) called for Democrat President Joe Biden and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to both be impeached on Monday, citing the administration’s continually worsening border crisis.

Roy tweeted out what he said were preliminary border numbers for the month of July, which he noted were subject to change.

“Total encounters: 205,029. Total known gotaways: 37,400,” Roy tweeted. “1.3 million for [Fiscal Year] 21 so far. Largest monthly encounter number since 2000.”

The numbers, if accurate, would be the largest total ever recorded by DHS, which was created in 2002 in response to the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attacks.

“What Joe Biden is doing at our border is impeachable,” Jesse Kelly, a political commentator, responded. “It’s more impeachable than Watergate. This is an attack on the sovereignty of America and it’s coming from the Oval Office. Republicans should move to impeach after 2022.”

Roy responded to Kelly’s tweet by writing: “Co-sponsor. #ImpeachBiden #ImpeachMayorkas”

‘ARREST THEM’: Wendy Rogers Responds to Maricopa County and Dominion Refusing to Comply with Senate Subpoenas

“They are acting guilty. If it acts like a duck…”

Arizona State Senator and Trump-ally Wendy Rogers has called for the arrest of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and executives of Dominion Voting Systems, following their refusal to comply with Senate-issued subpoenas.

Last week, the Arizona Senate issued subpoenas to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and Dominion Voting Systems, the company behind the software and machines used in the county during the election, for various items and information that would be needed by the team running the professional forensic audit of the results. These included ballots, routers, network logs, and other such election material.

However, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors on Monday declared that they would not be complying with the Senate subpoena. As National File reported:

In a letter sent to Senate President Karen Fann from their attorney, they simultaneously claimed that they had sent over what was needed, that what was demanded never existed, and further refused to send over other information and items, including the routers, offering multiple excuses including security issues which have already been repeatedly debunked.

In a statement, Board Chairman Jack Sellers said that the Arizona Senate is continuing to “deny reality,” and argued that “the election held in Maricopa County was one of the best run elections in the United States,” claiming “real election experts all agree on that point.” He argued that “Maricopa County long ago provided to the Arizona Senate everything competent auditors would need to affirm the accuracy and security of the November General Election,” and that new demands “are an attempt to distract attention from their botched audit and conspiracy-obsessed contractors.”

It was further revealed that Dominion Voting Systems, the company behind the software and machines used in Maricopa County, would also not be complying with their subpoena. “Dominion is not a public officer or public body, and therefore, has no obligation to make its records available for public inspection,” wrote John Poulos, the CEO of Dominion. “Because the Law has no application, Dominion will not produce or allow inspection of the materials requested in Senator Fann’s July 23 letter.”

State Senator Wendy Rogers, a long-time ally of President Trump, and one of the loudest voices in favour of the forensic audit, was not at all pleased by the refusal from Maricopa County and Dominion to engage with the subpoenas. “I would have arrested all of these people already if I had the power to do so,” Rogers tweeted. “I vote to arrest. Arrest and put them in solitary,” she continued, further wondering if there were enough “solitary confinement cells available in Arizona” for all of them. “We are going to need the lot.”

Christian Group Fighting Against Repulsive Ad From ‘A Medicine Company’ Pushing Transgenderism

One Million Moms, a Christian conservative group, is upset that pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly highlighted transgenderism in one of its newest ads. A particular line in the narration of the ad struck the Christian group as offensive, especially when the line was accompanied by footage of a person who had double mastectomy scars.

The conservative Christian group is calling upon parents to protest the ad because of the line that said “the body you are randomly assigned at birth shouldn’t determine how well you are cared for,” the Christian Post reported.

It was accompanied by visuals of a woman with double mastectomy scars wearing an open shirt and identifying as a man. The ad also featured a diverse range of people of different races, disabled people, people of color, people of different gender identities, and more, in a bid to highlight inclusivity.

The voice over in the ad says that medicines are made for everyone, rich or poor, no matter where that person resides. “Medicine will not discriminate against the color of your skin. Medicine pays no attention to the borders we draw to divide ourselves from each other,” the voice over states.

“Because the body you are randomly assigned at birth shouldn’t determine how well you are cared for, or how hard we work to find answers,” the Eli Lilly ad continues. “We make medicine not just for some, but for everyone.”

“Can you imagine what goes through the mind of a child when he or she sees this ad?” the statement from One Million Moms read. The Christian organization is known for decrying organizations that produce ads and other content that push ideologies disguised as inclusivity and diversity.

“Lilly chose to air this commercial knowing it would be controversial,” the group alleges, as per CBN News. “We all know children imitate what they see and repeat what they hear. Lilly should be ashamed!”

233 Vaxxed San Francisco Health Workers Catch COVID

Hundreds of people in San Francisco caught Covid-19 despite being vaccinated after CDC releases study showing 74% of vaccinated catching Covid-19.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Reports on Sunday found at least 233 staff members between two San Francisco hospitals tested positive for COVID-19 after being fully vaccinated, according to The New York Times.
  • The outbreak reportedly affected 80% of staff at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
  • It also affected 153 out of 183 employees at UCSF Medical Center.
  • Officials said some of the cases were asymptomatic, most involved mild to moderate symptoms and only two required hospitalization, notes the Times.
BACKGROUND:
  • This comes as Joe Biden and administration officials have consistently blamed unvaccinated Americans for the alleged rise in COVID cases, notes One America News.
  • Gibraltar and Iceland recently saw (here) significant COVID infection spikes despite over 90% of populations being vaccinated.
  • The CDC also recently released a Cape Cod study showing 74% of Covid-19 infected individuals had been vaccinated.

Murder Rate Nearly 3 Times Higher than COVID Deaths in Washington, DC

Three times as many people died from murder in Washington, D.C. than from Covid-19 in July.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Homicides in Washington, D.C., surpassed coronavirus deaths in the city “by a nearly 3-to-1 ratio in July as the nation’s capital continues to grapple with an uptick in murders,” reports Fox News.
  • There were 21 homicides in the city, compared to eight coronavirus deaths.
  • Nyiah Courtney, only 6 years old, was among those killed.
  • Trayon White—councilman of Ward 8—said, “We’ve put a lot of resources and time into the COVID pandemic,” but “We’re in a pandemic right now when it comes to crime in this community and we got to start acting it.”
  • There were 113 homicides in DC this year as of July 30, compared to 108 last year, data from the Metropolitan Police Department shows.
BACKGROUND:
  • DC recorded 100 homicides in 2021 by July 10, the earliest the city has hit that number since 2003, Fox notes.
  • Usually, that number isn’t reached until Oct. 25, the DC Police Union claimed, factoring in the average date over the past 10 years.
  • There was a double shooting on Saturday that killed Kervin Sanches, a 31-year-old teacher and father of four, according to FOX5 DC. Another man was injured. His fiancée, Patrice, said they were planning a wedding for October and had just bought their first home in DC.
  • “Sanches worked at the Imagine Hope Community Charter School. As of Monday morning, no arrests have been made in the case, the station reported.”
  • “In addition to just recently losing my friend, I have two students, one who I formerly coached who just graduated from high school that was recently hospitalized due to being shot in broad daylight in Northwest DC. And then another young man who I currently coach who was shot, maybe a week or so ago, and injured,” Marvin Moore, a friend of Sanches, told FOX5 DC.
  • A shooting took place last week in a high-end DC community in broad daylight (see below).
  • The report of the DC murder rate comes two weeks after gunfire outside of Nationals Park in the city prompted fans to flee from the stands (see below).
  • Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser gained attention in early June of 2020 for sectioning off a portion of 16th Street near the White House to be painted with the words “Black Lives Matter” in bright yellow.
  • She also expressed support for the “defund the police” movement attached to Black Lives Matter (BLM). “Well, we know the job of the activist is to call their issues to elected officials and our local chapter is no different,” Bowser said in an interview. “And we know, certainly I do, what our public safety needs are in Washington, D.C., and they’re not just policing. They include all of our opportunities to equalize opportunity. And all of our non-law-enforcement initiatives that are meant to interrupt violence.
  • In later June of 2020, DC lawmakers on advanced measures to cut $15 million from the police department budget, according to The Washington Post.
  • Now, over a year later, Mayer Bowser is now proposing hiring 170 additional officers after the city’s effort to defund law enforcement last year led to a freeze in acquisitions, according to The Washington Examiner.
  • “Right now, I have directed MPD to use any overtime necessary to meet our public safety demands. But we know that is not a complete solution or the right long-term solution,” the Democratic mayor said in a statement last Wednesday. “We also know we need all of our officers to be fresh, rested, and in the best position to make good decisions — and that requires having a full force to meet all of our community’s needs. The department is in a good position to make additional hires and move swiftly to close the gap between attrition and hiring, and that’s what this plan is going to help us do.”

God Pours Out His Spirit On People And Rain On Wildfires In Montana As Thousands Worship, Sean Feucht Shares

Prominent worship leader Sean Feucht toured Montana as he continues with his revival campaign across the United States.

Feucht shared the miracles of God during the “Let Us Worship” concerts as they visited various cities in the state such as Lewiston, Kalispell, Great Falls and Billings, CBN News reported.

While in Lewiston, he revealed that the rain, which is very much needed in the state due to wildfires, began to pour when they started rehearsing.

“It started to rain the MOMENT we strummed the 1st chord in rehearsal tonight!!!! This was an ANSWER to prayer for the wildfires raging across this state! What happens in the natural let it also happen in the spirit tonight!!” he said on Facebook, alongside a video clip explaining the experience.

In Kalispell, the worship leader said that almost 4,000 people attended the worship concert.

In another post, he disclosed that what happened in the city was more than they imagined, having hundreds of souls surrendered their lives to Christ.

“God exceeded our wildest dream last night in Kalispell!!! HISTORY WAS MADE! I am STILL undone!!

Thousands packed the fairgrounds in the Flathead Valley! Hundreds gave their lives to Jesus! The church unified in unprecedented ways!” he wrote.

When the team went to Great Falls, the singer observed the huge number of millennials who went to the event.

“Tonight in Great Falls birthed a movement that I believe will sweep over high schools in the region!!

WE’RE TAKING BACK A GENERATION!!” he posted.

They concluded their tour in Montana by visiting the city of Billings, wherein Feucht met a lady who is a member of the Crow Tribe.

“The Crow Tribe is with us tonight!!!! We love the love of God happening with the beautiful Native Americans!!!! Tonight is gonna amazing!!” he shared.

For this weekend, beginning Friday, the group is set to visit two cities in Washington before heading to Portland, Oregon on Sunday.

Alongside other church leaders, Feucht also criticized the passage of the Equality Act in the House last February.

“The Equality Act is absolutely horrifying, and it will do great damage to the church, to faith-based organizations, to Frist Amendment rights and to religious liberties,” he said.

He also warned that the legislation will be “the beginning” of the Biden administration’s attack on the church.

The worship leader uncovered that one of the reasons of his aspiration to join the political arena was due to issues relative to family, the unborn and church, which necessitates people who will “stand for righteousness.”

He shared three ways the Christians can do to show their opposition to the bill.

First, believers have to take a stand by sharing the Gospel, regardless of the people and media’s reactions.

Next, they have to pray that God would move the hearts of the senators to “take a stand for what is right,” in accordance with the Word of God.

Finally, Christians have to “demonstrate revival” by showing the love of God to other people.

“I believe we have a mandate as salt and light, which means we need to invade every sphere of culture,” Feucht pointed out.

Chinese officials forcibly remove crosses, erase ‘Emmanuel’ from Christians’ fishing boats. Victims say gov’t did not do the same to other religions.

The Chinese government has long been known to be hostile to Christianity and other religions. Now, the dictatorship is going after Christian Chinese fishermen.

What’s happening?

Beijing’s particular disdain for Christianity has not subsided, even after the U.S. government has repeatedly opened up trade opportunities with the communist country using the reasoning that American interests will influence the brutal, authoritarian Sino government and blunt its anti-Western, anti-God agenda.

Assumed Western impact on the communist regime has not played out the way trade advocates predicted.

Consider how Chinese strongman Xi Jinping and previous leaders have treated religiously observant citizens whose beliefs threaten the ideology of the regime — from Uyghur Muslims to the Christian faithful.

The government’s treatment of Christians has been going on for years. A few recent examples:

  • In the summer of 2019, Xi and his local religion monitors shut downfaith venues based on the idea that the “number of believes cannot be allowed to continue growing.”
  • Reports surfaced in April that Chinese officials are detainingChristians in windowless “transformation” facilities and using “brainwashing” to try to get them to renounce their faith.
  • In late 2018, the government cracked down on unregistered religious organizations and committed raids on numerous churches.
  • Three years ago, China banned online sales of the Bible while continuing to allow outlets like Amazon to sell Muslim, Taoist, and Buddhist texts.
  • Last summer, the government ordered Christians to replace crosses and images of Jesus Christ with portraits of communist leaders.
  • In May, the Communist Party instituted a nationwide crackdown on Christianity and shut down Christian-based apps.

Now there’s a new attack on Chinese Christians underway, China Aid, an organization that exposes Christian persecution in China, reported over the weekend: Authorities are removing crosses and erasing Christian messaging from fishermen’s boats.

According to China Aid, officials forcibly removed crosses and erased “Emmanuel” slogans from fishing boats late last week. Authorities reportedly told the targeted fishermen that the government would reject their fishing permits and prevent them from buying gasoline and driving their boats if they did not acquiesce.

The attack on the fishermen’s personal property was reportedly a violation of their constitutional freedoms, the outlet said.

One fisherman told China Aid:

The government is completely unreasonable. Fishing boats are our personal property. We have the right to put crosses on our boats. Religious freedom is written in the Constitution. However, it is just empty talk. The government never enforces the Constitution.

When the victims asked the Communist Party officials to show legal documents allowing the forced removal of the religious symbols, they could provide none, the outlet reported. But it did not stop them.

A Christian fisherman pointed out that the government was being selective in its religious outrage, asking, “Why do they only removed crosses, but not signs and slogans from other religions? Why do crosses bother them?”
