Trump Cards Now Worth $500,000 After Selling for Just $99 the Day Before

Former President Donald Trump’s non-fungible tokens (NFTs), known as “digital trading cards,” sold out in a matter of hours and are now worth over $500,000, according to Newsweek.

The collection, which features Trump in various guises such as a superhero, cowboy, and astronaut, was available for purchase for $99.

According to OpenSea data, the entire collection of 45,000 NFTs was minted within 12 hours and was purchased by nearly 14,000 people.

The Trump NFT collection currently has a value of around 460 Ethereum, or approximately $570,000. Prior to the launch of the NFTs, many speculated that Trump’s “major announcement” could be the naming of his running mate or his decision to run for president in 2024 as an independent.

Instead, he revealed he had entered the NFT market and encouraged his supporters to buy the trading cards.

The proceeds from the sale of the NFTs will not be used for Trump’s potential 2024 presidential campaign, according to the website for the Donald Trump Digital Trading Card.

Trump’s former White House strategist, Steve Bannon, expressed his frustration with the “major announcement,” calling it a “disappointment” on his podcast. President Joe Biden also mocked Trump’s NFTs in a tweet.
