Trump Blasts Biden FBI for Butler Investigation

President Trump condemned the Biden-era FBI for failures in its investigation of the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania. His comments follow new reporting from The New York Post that the would-be assassin, Thomas Crooks, was fixated on firearms in the years ahead of the shooting.

“Everybody knows the Crooked Joe Biden FBI didn’t do what they should have with respect to the Lunatic who shot me in Butler, PA. By the time I got into Office, on January 20th, most of the information was missing, altered, corrupted, or gone,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “New info was just found! Why wasn’t it seen long ago? This was all a Democrat Plot, to get me out of the Election, that failed. Dirty Cop Christopher Wray should pay a price for the way he handled this assassination attempt, and certainly for the things he said. GOD BLESS AMERICA — MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Details of Crooks’ fascination with firearms were revealed in documents provided to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) as part of his ongoing probe into the assassination attempt. Crooks’ father, Matthew, believed his son had “ulterior motives” in his interest that were realized “the minute he pulled that trigger.”

Just days before the assassination attempt, Matthew said he saw his son via a surveillance camera pacing in the garage with his “arms going up and down … frantically talking and not making any sense.”

President Trump discussed the attempt on his life during a phone interview on “Fox & Friends” on its two-year anniversary, telling hosts that “God was with me.”

“If I looked to the left, I wouldn’t be talking to you right now,” he added, going on to compare the shot to a mosquito bite. “I look over to the right as it’s coming down, and I said, ‘Wow, what was that?’ I said, ‘It’s either the biggest, most violent mosquito in history, or I just got shot. It was one of the two things.’”
