Kimberly Greenwood, the wife of “God Bless the USA” singer Lee Greenwood, has been tapped to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Barbados.
Greenwood posted a picture of herself, her husband, and President Trump on social media, thanking Trump for the nomination. “To be asked by the President of the United States to represent the country I love is one of the greatest honors of my lifetime,” she wrote.
“If confirmed by the United States Senate, I will work every day to earn that confidence, to listen and learn, to build genuine relationships, and to make sure the people of every nation I am privileged to serve know how deeply America values their friendship,” she added.
Mr. Greenwood celebrated his wife on X, declaring this his “heart is overflowing with pride.”
“For more than three decades, I have had the privilege of watching Kim lead with strength, grace, compassion and an unwavering love for our country. Whether mentoring and empowering young women, supporting our veterans and their families, serving our community and church, or raising our two sons, Kim has always approached every responsibility with a servant’s heart and a deep commitment to excellence. Kim worked with President Trump for 18 years through the Miss Universe Organization while directing multiple state pageants, and I am deeply grateful for the confidence he has once again placed in her through this nomination,” he wrote. “I have proudly supported President Trump since he first announced his intention to lead this great nation, and I remain grateful for his service to America.”
