The parents of an 11-year-old female student have complained to a Colorado school district after their daughter was forced to share a bed with a biological male, transgender student.

The legislation, known as AB 969, which was introduced and gained substantial approval in September, permits manual ballot counting only under specific conditions: during regular elections in regions with fewer than 1,000 registered voters, and special elections with under 5,000 voters.
The policy in question mandated students and staff to “respect” the gender identity of students by using the chosen names and pronouns of transgender students.
