The Cathedral of Hope in Dallas recently hosted an event named "Drag Sunday," during which the church extended blessings to a controversial drag queen group named the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
Also recognized during Pride Month was Marsha P. Johnson, a black transgender activist described as a "mother figure" to drag queens, trans women, and homeless youth.
A private Christian college in Nashville, Tennessee, Belmont University, canceled an event with a Christian men's ministry after the group posted comments that the college believed to "unnecessarily fan the flames of culture wars and are harmful to members of our community.”
