In a new 14-page letter to the Justice Department, signed by prominent Washington attorney Abbe Lowell, Hunter's lawyers have asked for an investigation into close allies of former President Donald Trump, former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, Trump's longtime lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and others who had access to the laptop's data.
"The Court should declare it unlawful and unconstitutional, vacate it in its entirety, and permanently enjoin its implementation (with a prudent transition for existing DACA recipients)," the court filing reads.
"It's objective by whose standard? ... That standard seems to be White, educated, and fairly wealthy," noted Kathleen Carroll, former executive editor at the Associated Press.
