The contentious North Carolina Supreme Court race between incumbent Democrat Allison Riggs and Republican challenger Jefferson Griffin remains unresolved, with litigation now spanning both state and federal courts. The outcome of Seat 6 on the state’s highest court has been in limbo for three months since Election Day.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections on Friday voted to dismiss the remaining protests in the closely contested race between Republican Jefferson Griffin and Democrat Allison Riggs. With 292 ballots in question and a margin of just 734 votes between the candidates, the board's decision moves the process forward but did not issue a certificate of election immediately.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that county election boards must comply with previous rulings that state that counties cannot count undated or misdated mail-in ballots.

Republican businessman Eric Hovde conceded defeat on Monday in the closely contested Wisconsin U.S. Senate race, ending speculation over a potential recount.
