A recent report from George Washington University highlights a disturbing trend of Iranian influence within the United States, particularly on college campuses.
The report outlines how Iranian operatives, such as Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi, are spreading propaganda and fostering anti-Semitic sentiments. Notably, Vice President Kamala Harris was seen engaging with Elahi, who has a history of supporting the Iranian regime and its terrorist affiliates like Hezbollah.
The report states, “Democrats hold a dangerously mistaken notion that Iran is part of the solution — not the main problem in the Middle East.”
Elahi’s organization has received significant funding from the Alavi Foundation, which has been accused of being a front for the Iranian government, channeling nearly $500,000 to Elahi’s Islamic House of Wisdom and nearly $1.9 million to U.S. universities.
The incident raises concerns about the funding of anti-Israel activities and the influence of Iranian ideology in American academia.
Furthermore, the report mentions that Elahi has mingled with various prominent Democrats, including former Secretary of State John Kerry and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. As one expert noted, “For decades, the Iranian regime has worked closely with far-left, far-right and Islamist groups across Europe and North America.”
This underscores the urgent need for American leadership to confront and reject the Iranian regime’s malign influence, as Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) stated, “We need an administration that has the backbone to reject Iran’s propaganda that undermines America.”
