DOJ Investigates Rep. Cori Bush Over Misuse of Security Funds

The Justice Department is allegedly investigating Rep. Cori Bush, (D-MO), for criminal misuse of federal funds for her personal security.

“In recent months, right-wing organizations lodged baseless complaints against me, peddling notions I have misused campaign funds to pay for personal security services,” Bush said in a statement. “That is simply not true.”

“I have complied with all applicable laws.”

Bush’s personal security spending became a topic of discussion when media asked her about spending up to $700,000 on personal security while she was calling for the defunding of police during the 2020 George Floyd riots.

Bush confirmed in a statement that the DOJ was conducting an investigation into campaign spending on security services.
