Search For Missing Michigan Mother Continues

Authorities are intensifying their search for Ashley Elkins, a 30-year-old hairstylist and mother of two from Warren, Michigan, who has been missing since January 2.

Elkins was last seen leaving her home to run errands and later sent a text saying she was returning from a beauty supply store. She has not been heard from since, and her disappearance is described as highly out of character by her family.

Elkins’ sister, Alexis Elkins, emphasized that Ashley is devoted to her family and children and would not vanish without explanation. Her family has been actively searching for her, growing increasingly suspicious of her ex-boyfriend.

“We knew that he had been, you know, trying to reach out to her, whether to get back with her, I don’t know, so that’s why people were suspicious,” Elkins’s uncle, Maurice Morton, said.

“She loves her family, her kids,” Alexis said. “She would never just disappear for this many days.”

According to the family, Ashley’s phone last pinged near her ex-boyfriend’s apartment in Roseville, Michigan earlier last week.

On Tuesday, Elkins’ vehicle was discovered abandoned near 13 Mile and Little Mack in Roseville, close to the ex-boyfriend’s residence. This prompted police to search his home, where sources say a dumpster was also removed as evidence. Authorities confirmed they have spoken with the ex-boyfriend multiple times but have not disclosed whether anyone is in custody at this time.

Warren Police have been working to locate Elkins using surveillance footage from area businesses and digital forensics. More information is expected to be released as the investigation continues. Her family remains hopeful for answers and urges anyone with information to come forward.
