The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that it will not create transgender guidelines for children.
In a statement from January 15, the WHO wrote, “The scope will cover adults only and not address the needs of children and adolescents, because on review, the evidence base for children and adolescents is limited and variable regarding the longer-term outcomes of gender affirming care for children and adolescents.”
The statement comes as the organization also extended its deadline for feedback on the development of a transgender guideline.
“WHO received a wide-ranging set of feedback from communities and stakeholders and appreciates the engagement seen to date. Acknowledging the need for more time for feedback, WHO is extending the deadline for submissions until 2 February 2024,” the WHO said.
According to the organization, the trans and gender diverse guideline will focus on five areas: “provision of gender-affirming care, including hormones;” “health workers education and training for the provision of gender-inclusive care;” “provision of health care for trans and gender diverse people who suffered interpersonal violence based in their needs;” “health policies that support gender-inclusive care;” and “legal recognition of self-determined gender identity.”
Although the WHO announced the guidelines will not extend to minors, some individuals on the panel drafting the guidelines have voiced their support for children’s “gender-affirming care.”
In an October video statement released on Truth Social, Donald Trump described the World Health Organization (WHO) as a “corrupt globalist scam.”
“The World Health Organization has become nothing more than a corrupt globalist scam paid for by the United States but owned and controlled by China,” Trump said. “When the China virus reached our shores three years ago, the World Health Organization disgracefully covered the tracks of the Chinese Communist Party — every single step of the way. For this reason, it was my great honor to terminate America’s relationship with the World Health Organization.”
Trump explained the U.S.’ role in the WHO before adding, “Unfortunately, crooked Joe Biden foolishly re-entered the World Health Organization at the full price and without any negotiations or reforms. And now Biden is pushing to bypass the United States Senate to enter a pandemic treaty that would surrender American sovereignty to the World Health Organization. Again, controlled by China.”
He added that should he be elected president in 2024, he “would not allow public health to be used as a pretext to advance the march of global government.” He then called for the WHO to be “completely abolished and replaced.”
