WHO Choses Panel of Trans Activists to Draft Children’s Healthcare Policies

The World Health Organization (WHO) has selected a panel of individuals to lead the charge in drafting healthcare policies for children.

The majority of those on the panel are transgender activists.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, one of the panel members is a Canadian TikToker who believes puberty blockers should be prescribed to all children so they can “choose” their identity.

Another individual said gender transition surgeries pose no health risks and only result in “significantly improved quality of life… and trans joy.”

One panelist who goes by the name Ashley reportedly said on TikTok, “Is there any reason to ask people to go through a lengthy and complex gender assessment in order to access gender-affirming care, or is that useless and should the time best be put in supporting decision-making?”

“Gender assessments are really an unnecessary form of gatekeeping that trans communities have been opposing for a while,” the individual added.

The WHO has been criticized for its call for transgender guidelines.

Independent consultant Reem Alsalem said of the WHO’s one-sided push, “Stakeholders whose views differ from those held by transgender activist organisations do not appear to have been invited. Such stakeholders include experts from European public health authorities who have taken the lead on developing an evidence-based and consequently cautious approach to youth gender transitions (eg England, Sweden and Finland).”

Alsalem noted that the WHO’s committee consisted of “strong, one-sided views in favour of promoting hormonal gender transition and legal recognition of self-asserted gender.”

“Not one appears to represent a voice of caution for medicalising youth with gender dysphoria or the protection of female-only spaces.”
