WHO Pushes Back Against US Withdrawal

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned that the United States’ withdrawal from the globalist entity will make the nation “less safe,” criticizing the Trump administration’s decision.

According to the statement, the WHO “regrets the United States’ notification of withdrawal from WHO – a decision that makes both the United States and the world less safe.”

“WHO takes note of statements from the government of the United States that say WHO has ‘trashed and tarnished’ and insulted it, and compromised its independence,” the statement added. “The reverse is true. As we do with every Member State, WHO has always sought to engage with the United States in good faith, with full respect for its sovereignty.”

The WHO went on to defend its actions during the COVID-19 pandemic, which the U.S. has long condemned, and argued the nation’s statement that the entity has a “politicized, bureaucratic agenda” is “simply untrue.”

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement last week on the termination of the U.S.’s involvement with the WHO, declaring that the organization “abandoned its core mission and acted repeatedly against the interests of the United States.”

“Although the United States was a founding member and the WHO’s largest financial contributor, the organization pursued a politicized, bureaucratic agenda driven by nations hostile to American interests,” the joint statement added. “In doing so, the WHO obstructed the timely and accurate sharing of critical information that could have saved American lives and then concealed those failures under the pretext of acting ‘in the interest of public health.'”

The U.S. leaders said the decision will honor “the Americans who died alone in nursing homes, the small businesses devastated by WHO-driven restrictions, and the American lives shattered by this organization’s inactivity. Our withdrawal is for them.”

The official withdrawal aligns with President Trump’s 2025 order directing the nation to exit the globalist entity.
