Walz’s Daughter Declares Running a ‘Privilege’ in Anti-Trump Tirade

Hope Walz, daughter of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, sparked controversy after posting a TikTok video labeling running as a “privilege” and criticizing a fitness influencer’s visit to the Trump White House. The 24-year-old expressed frustration that influencer Kate Mackz, who had previously interviewed her father, also engaged with the current administration.

In her video, Walz argued that running is inherently political, stating, “Running as an act is political. And you know who taught me that? Tim Walz.” She elaborated that access to running requires time, financial resources, quality nutrition, and a stable mental state—factors she believes are not universally available.

Walz further criticized Mackz for “platforming” Trump officials, asserting that such actions normalize policies she deems harmful, including cuts to climate initiatives and social services. She emphasized, “You don’t get to ‘both sides’ this. It’s not both sides. We are quite literally talking about good versus evil here.”

The video received significant backlash online, with critics mocking Walz’s assertions and questioning her rationale. Some commentators highlighted the irony of politicizing a universally accessible activity like running.
