W.H.O. Chief Says Abortion ‘Saves Lives’

Director-General says lack of access to safe abortions will cause girls and women to use unsafe means.

QUICK FACTS:
  • World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is speaking out in favor of abortions, saying that it will “save lives,” according to Breitbart News.
  • The WHO chief argues that if women and girls don’t have access to safe abortions they will opt for unsafe ones, causing maternal loss of life.
  • Tedros is a self-described Christian and head of the globalist health organization, which includes a broad description of abortion care in its list of essential health care services.
WHO LEADER’S TAKE ON ABORTION & RELIGION:
  • “Women should always have the right to choose when it comes to their bodies and their health,” Ghebreyesus said in a Tweet sharing WHO’s promotion of abortion rights. “Restricting access to #abortion does not reduce the number of procedures — it drives women and girls towards unsafe ones. Access to safe abortion saves lives.”
  • The world health leader previously spoke about his Christianity in a Facebook post about his religion and Islam, saying, “Many fellow Christians were surprised when I said inshallah. And I meant it. Islam means Peace. And that has been what I believed since childhood although I am Orthodox Christian.”
  • Ghebreyesus went on to say he’s “had neighbors since childhood who were models of that Islam value. Let’s not link the ideology of some radicals to represent Islam. Islam is Peace. Let’s use our religious and Ethnic diversity to unite us and build our beloved #Ethiopia together. Our diversity is our beauty and our strength. Ethiopia means just that – diverse, colorful and Beautiful. I am so proud to be Ethiopian and so do you!”
BACKGROUND:
  • Ghebreyesus’s comments came on the heels of an international discussion about abortion in the light of the United States abortion laws possibly facing radical change.
  • Just days ago, a leak from the Supreme Court revealed the first draft of a majority decision that indicates the conservative-majority court may be poised to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade abortion legalization.
  • Roe v. Wade has led to the deaths of more than 60 million unborn children in the U.S. alone.
