Ukrainian Journalist Calls Zelenskyy a ‘Dictator’

Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “dictator” and accused him of imprisoning his political opponents in a video statement.

“Today, I ask for your attention. Zelenskyy took Ukraine hostage. We want freedom. He imprisoned or killed anyone who dare to speak out,” she said. “We need your help. Thousands of cases have been opened under the charge of treason. The defense carries a life sentence. In fact, it’s even worse.”

She shared a list of people who have “suffered for the truth” and are now in prison on “fabricated charges.”

“It’s just a fraction about whom we managed to find out. I believe in power of speech,” she said, adding, “Save people from Dictator Zelenskyy.”

American Faith reported that Ukraine agreed to a U.S.-proposed immediate 30-day ceasefire with Russia, contingent upon reciprocal adherence from Moscow. This development emerged from discussions between U.S. and Ukrainian officials in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, alongside National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, announced the agreement, stating, “We’ll take this offer now to the Russians, and we hope that they’ll say yes.” Rubio added, “We hope the Russians will reciprocate.”

The proposed ceasefire is designed as a temporary measure, extendable by mutual consent, to facilitate comprehensive peace negotiations. Key issues to be addressed in subsequent talks include the return of children allegedly abducted by Russia and the exchange of prisoners of war.

Prior to the agreement, President Donald Trump received a letter from Zelenskyy, in which the Ukrainian president apologized for the failed White House meeting. “Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians,” Trump quoted from the letter.
