Trump Vows to Make U.S. #1 Lowest Cost Energy Provider in 2024

In a Thursday press release, former President Donald J. Trump outlined his plan to ensure America boasts the lowest energy and electricity costs globally.

“As President, I will set a national goal of ensuring that America has the No. 1 lowest cost of energy of any industrial country anywhere on Earth,” Trump stated emphatically.

He promised that under his leadership, America will not just match but “be cheaper than China by a lot.”

Highlighting the economic implications, Trump argued that affordable energy translates to “lower inflation, more jobs,” and the potential for the U.S. to reclaim its title as “the manufacturing superpower of the world.”

According to the release, Trump aims to “unleash American Energy” and on his very first day in office, will “rescind every one of Joe Biden’s industry-killing, jobs-killing, pro-China and anti-American electricity regulations.”

In a direct challenge to the Biden administration’s energy policies, Trump promised to “DRILL, BABY, DRILL.”

The release accused Biden of raising the cost of oil and gas leases by 50% and limiting the available drilling acreage by a significant 80%.

Trump plans to end Biden’s delays in federal drilling permits and leases to maximize American oil and natural gas production.

Further criticizing Biden’s approach, Trump announced plans to “remove all red tape that is leaving oil and natural gas projects stranded.”

He emphasized the importance of energy projects like those in the Marcellus Shale regions of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and New York.

He also mentioned refilling the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), which he claims Biden “wastefully drained to its lowest level in 40 years.”

On international climate agreements, Trump reaffirmed his stance, declaring he would “once again exit the horrendously unfair Paris Climate Accords” and stand against “the radical left’s Green New Deal policies.”

Trump’s proposal highlighted the potential benefits of nuclear energy, citing the need to “modernize the Nuclear Regulatory Commission” and focus on “innovative small modular reactors.”

He added, “The United States should source as much fuel as we can from U.S. mined materials and reduce our reliance on foreign fuel to run our domestic reactors.”

Addressing the auto industry, Trump said that he would roll back the “Biden administration mandate that is brutalizing the American auto industry.”

He blamed Biden’s emission regulations for the potential loss of 117,000 auto manufacturing jobs.

The campaign’s release emphasized the intrinsic link between affordable electricity and economic growth, asserting a near “90% correlation between the use of electricity in the U.S. and economic growth.”

Drawing comparisons with global trends, it stated that the high cost of electricity was a significant contributor to job losses and deteriorating living standards.

In conclusion, Trump’s message was clear: “The best way to lower inflation and keep and grow jobs in America is to make sure that American industry always has the most affordable, most abundant, and most reliable energy in the world.”
