Trump Urges Maryland Gov. Wes Moore to ‘Stop Talking and Get to Work’ Amid Crime Criticism

President Trump used a pointed post on Truth Social to rebuke Maryland Governor Wes Moore for inviting him to tour Baltimore. Trump labeled the invitation “nasty and provocative,” and stated plainly that he would not visit until Moore effectively “clean[s] up this Crime disaster.”

Trump dismissed Moore’s record on public safety, questioning whether crime data had been manipulated and accusing the governor of underreporting the true extent of criminal activity. He suggested that federal intervention—similar to a response he previously deployed in Los Angeles—could be considered for Baltimore.

Trump asserted that once the situation in Baltimore matched his claims about safety in Washington, D.C., he would consider accompanying Moore on the proposed walk.

Trump also noted the city’s high ranking in national crime statistics, calling Baltimore the “4th WORST CITY IN THE NATION IN CRIME & MURDER.” He closed by criticizing Moore’s administration, referencing previously approved funding for infrastructure projects like the Key Bridge, and hinting at reevaluation of such federal support.
