Trump to Opt Out of Tucker Carlson Interview During First 2024 GOP Forum

Donald Trump is to opt out of an interview series hosted by Tucker Carlson.

The interview is part of the first 2024 forum for GOP presidential candidates.

The candidates to be interviewed include Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and former Vice President Mike Pence.

The interview series will be hosted by Blaze Media and The Family Leader, an organization in Iowa.

CEO and President of The Family Leader President Bob Vander Plaats tweeted, “I learned last night that @realDonaldTrump will NOT attend our Leadership Summit this Friday. Thus, our lineup is set: @votetimscott @AsaHutchinson @Mike_Pence @NikkiHaley @VivekGRamaswamy and @RonDeSantis will have visionary, one on one, discussion with @TuckerCarlson #FLS23 #ChooseWell2024.”

Some have speculated that Trump is too far ahead in polls to be concerned about the interview.

According to Real Clear Politics, Trump’s average poll result is 53%.

Reporting from The Daily Mail:

It is also still unclear whether Trump will participate in the first Republican National Committee (RNC) primary debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 23. The RNC set out guidelines that to get on stage, candidates must sign a pledge to support the eventual nominee.

This restriction has caused some more longshot candidates to also express their skepticism over participating.
