Trump to Hold ‘Victory Rally’

President-elect Donald Trump will hold a “victory rally” at Capital One Arena on Jan. 19.

The “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” is described as a “rally you’ll never forget,” an event link says. It will begin at 3 p.m. ET. Doors open at 11 a.m.

The venue, home to the Washington Wizards basketball team, can hold roughly 20,000 people, CBS News reported.

Earlier this week, Trump met with D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, who called their meeting “great.” She stated that both she and Trump “want Washington, DC to be the best, most beautiful city in the world and we want the capital city to reflect the strength of our nation.”

“We discussed areas for collaboration between local and federal government, especially around our federal workforce, underutilized federal buildings, parks and green spaces, and infrastructure,” she said in a statement. “I am optimistic that we will continue to find common ground with the President during his second term, and we look forward to supporting a successful inauguration on January 20.”

Trump said during his AmericaFest speech, “Standing before you today, I can proudly proclaim that the GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA IS UPON US!”

Washington, D.C. police have said they will implement strong security measures for the upcoming events in the area.

According to FOX 5, security teams and steel fencing will surround the Capitol during Congress’ certification of the 2024 election results on January 6. Between Tuesday and Thursday, D.C. will hold Jimmy Carter’s funeral. On January 20, Trump will be inaugurated.

The D.C. Police Department said, “While there is no known threat to the District of Columbia, out of an abundance of caution, MPD has heightened its security posture across the city in light of recent events. While we do not discuss specifics regarding operations, tactics, or staffing, the community will notice an increased police presence throughout the city.”

“Whenever an incident occurs in the country, MPD closely monitors the situation, evaluates intelligence, and assesses our security posture. As the nation’s capital, we maintain a heightened level of security at all times to ensure the safety of our residents, businesses, and visitors,” they said. “As we approach upcoming major events in the District of Columbia, MPD will continue working with our local and federal partners to assess potential threats and make any necessary adjustments to safeguard the community.”
