Trump Promises to Release JFK, RFK, and MLK Assassination Records

Former President Donald Trump pledged Sunday to release long-classified government documents related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Speaking at a rally in Washington, D.C., Trump vowed to reverse what he called the “overclassification” of documents, saying, “As a first step toward restoring transparency and accountability to government, we will make public remaining records relating to these assassinations and other topics of great public interest.”

The announcement was part of Trump’s broader agenda to bring transparency to federal operations. He also committed to addressing other classified subjects, but no additional details were provided. Trump’s remarks come as he campaigns for a return to the presidency in 2024, promising sweeping reforms and executive actions.

RFK Jr.’s Role in Trump’s Administration

Trump praised Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who endorsed his presidential bid and is slated to lead the Department of Health and Human Services in a potential Trump administration. Trump highlighted Kennedy Jr.’s personal experiences with political violence, citing the assassinations of his father and uncle.

Kennedy Jr. has been outspoken about his belief that the CIA was involved in the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, an accusation the agency denies. Trump reiterated his support for Kennedy Jr., saying, “He lost his father and uncle in service to our country and has faced repeated threats while standing against corruption.”

Recent Threats and Biden Administration’s Actions

Trump also referenced an alleged assassination attempt against him in Pennsylvania last month. He criticized the Biden administration for initially denying Secret Service protection to Kennedy Jr. during his campaign, which was only granted after the Pennsylvania incident.

Day-One Executive Orders

Trump concluded his remarks by promising to repeal over 200 executive orders from the Biden administration on his first day in office. “Every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration will be repealed within hours of when I take the oath of office,” he stated.

Trump’s promises reflect his campaign’s focus on government transparency and accountability, with the release of assassination records positioned as a major step in that direction.
