BIDEN, GOP WANT TO “GIVE UKRAINE EVERYTHING THAT IT NEEDS”:
- Instead of traveling to East Palestine, Ohio, to offer support to Americans affected by the train derailment spilling hazardous chemicals into the area, Biden chose to visit Ukraine and Poland.
- In contrast to Trump’s message of peace, Biden chose to support the continuation of conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
- “I thought it was critical that there not be any doubt, none whatsoever, about US support for Ukraine in the war,” Biden said.
- There are many Republicans who share Biden’s promotion of war.
- House Foreign Affairs Committee chair Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) also traveled to Ukraine along with Representatives Keith Self (R-TX), Max Miller (R-OH), Darrell Issa (R-CA), and Jake Ellzey (R-TX) to meet with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky and review the use of military equipment.
- “We talked primarily about what [Zelensky’s] needs are when it comes to winning this war,” said McCaul, adding that Zelenskey “needs the longer-range artillery, also known as ATACMS, that can go all the way into Crimea to take out the Iranian drones that are causing so many problems throughout Ukraine…He also needs air-to-surface systems including aircrafts like the F-16.”
- McCaul noted that there is also “strong bipartisan support to give Ukraine everything that it needs to win.”
- Some of the “longer-range artillery” will come in the form of Joint Direct Attack Munition-Extended Range (JDAM-ER) kits. The air-launched bombs have a range of 50 miles.
- The Pentagon announced a $2.17 billion security package for Ukraine that includes Boeing’s Ground-Launched, Small Diameter Bombs (GLSDBs) that can travel up to 93 miles.

- Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Trump’s claim that he could swiftly end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is “not far” from the truth.
- Trump wrote on Truth Social in all caps, “IF I WERE PRESIDENT, THE RUSSIA/UKRAINE WAR WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED, BUT EVEN NOW, IF PRESIDENT, I WOULD BE ABLE TO NEGOTIATE AN END TO THIS HORRIBLE AND RAPIDLY ESCALATING WAR WITHIN 24 HOURS,” adding, “SUCH A TRAGIC WASTE OF HUMAN LIFE!!!”
- The Russian press secretary acknowledged that “should the U.S. President wish to put an end to this conflict, he could do it very quickly, using the opportunity to simply give instructions to the Kiev regime.”
