Trump Not Attending GOP Presidential Debate

In a Sunday post on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump announced that a new CBS poll has shown him leading potential Republican contenders by what he calls “legendary” margins, and will therefore not be participating in upcoming debates.

The poll places Trump at “62%, 46 Points above DeSanctimonious,” Trump noted, using a moniker for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who stands at a distant second.

Trump’s use of the term “DeSanctimonious” represents a jab at the Governor, and he further commented on DeSantis’ position by saying he is “crashing like an ailing bird!”

Other contenders mentioned in the post include “Ramaswamy 7%, Pence 5%, Scott 3%, Haley 2%, Sloppy Chris Christie 2%, ‘Aida’ Hutchinson 1%.”

Trump also took shots at “Sloppy Chris Christie” and “‘Aida’ Hutchinson.”

Furthermore, Trump reflected on his past term as president, asserting that “The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & much more.”

Perhaps most significantly, the former president concluded his post with a declaration that may reshape the political landscape of the upcoming election cycle.

The former president indicated he will not be participating in Republican primary debates, including the initial debate set for this week.

He stated unequivocally: “I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES.”

The inaugural debate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is set to take place this Wednesday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
