Trump Leads 2024 GOP Primary by 58 Points: Harvard/Harris Poll

Mike Pence comes in second, DeSantis third.

  • The survey released this week asked Republican voters, “If the Republican presidential primary for the 2024 election was held today, who would you vote for?” Breitbart reports.
  • According to the survey, a primary including Trump would be no contest, as he leads his closest potential challenger by 58 points, with 67% support.
  • No other challenger earned double digit support.
  • Former Vice President Mike Pence came in second with 9% support, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) with 8%.
  • If Trump were not to run, DeSantis becomes the frontrunner with 30% support, Pence 25%, followed by Sen. Ted Cruz at 13% and Sen. Marco Rubio at 8%.
DEMOCRAT RUNNERS:
  • The survey asked the same of Democrat voters for the Democrat primary, Joe Biden topping the list, but without majority support at only 36%.
  • Vice President Kamala Harris follows with 16%.
  • However, if Biden were not to run, Harris takes the lead with 31% suppoer, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (15%) and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg (8%).
