Trump Announces ‘External Revenue Service’

President-elect Donald Trump announced plans to create an “External Revenue Service” to collect tariffs from other countries.

“For far too long, we have relied on taxing our Great People using the Internal Revenue Service (IRS),” he wrote on Truth Social. “Through soft and pathetically weak Trade agreements, the American Economy has delivered growth and prosperity to the World, while taxing ourselves. It is time for that to change.”

“I am today announcing that I will create the EXTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE to collect our Tariffs, Duties, and all Revenue that come from Foreign sources,” Trump continued. We will begin charging those that make money off of us with Trade, and they will start paying, FINALLY, their fair share. January 20, 2025, will be the birth date of the External Revenue Service. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

The announcement comes as Trump has proposed implementing tariffs on foreign imports.

In November, Trump declared that one of his first executive orders on January 20th would impose a 25% tariff on all goods entering the U.S. from Mexico and Canada. He emphasized that the tariffs would remain in place “until such time as drugs, in particular fentanyl, and all illegal aliens stop this invasion of our country.”

Trump similarly threatened to impose tariffs on any BRICS nation that moves away from the U.S. dollar.

BRICS, comprised of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and, have previously suggested they plan to create a new currency. Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, and Egypt have also joined the bloc.

“The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER,” Trump wrote on social media. “We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy.”
