Trump Admin Boots Over Half a Million Illegals

More than 527,000 illegal immigrants have been removed from the United States, according to information from the Department of Homeland Security.

“The Trump Administration is on pace to shatter historic records and deport nearly 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of President Donald Trump’s first year since returning to office. More than 2 million illegal aliens have left the U.S., including 1.6 million who have voluntarily self-deported and over 527,000 deportations,” DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said. “This is just the beginning. President Trump and Secretary Noem have jumpstarted an agency that was hamstrung and barred from doing its job for the last four years.”

McLaughlin described the Trump administration’s actions as “historic,” declaring that “illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now or face the consequence: Migrants are now turning back before they even reach our borders.”

Homeland Security and the Justice Department recently announced a new federal rule to fine illegal immigrants who refuse to leave the country.

Under the current rule, illegal immigrants are given a 30-day notice of the intent to fine them. The new rule eliminates the notice period and instead allows immigration authorities to send fines more efficiently. Illegal immigrants will now be fined up to $998 each day they willfully fail to comply with a removal order. Those who choose to self-deport through the CBP Home App will be forgiven of fines or penalties.

Other fines include a $100 to $500 fine for unlawful entry or attempted entry into the country, and a $1,992 to $9,970 fine for failure to honor a voluntary departure order.
