Texas Governor Sending Thousands of Migrants to Sanctuary Cities

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) announced that he is sending 70,000 migrants to sanctuary cities.

The governor is sending 12,500 to Washington, D.C., 25,000 to New York City, 20,000 to Chicago, 3,200 to Philadelphia, 7,400 to Denver, and 1,100 to Los Angeles.

In a post on X, Abbott wrote, “Texas will bus migrants to sanctuary cities until Biden secures the border, adding, “Our mission provides vital relief to border towns.”

Abbott previously bused 50,000 illegal immigrants to Democrat-run cities.

An estimated 10,000 illegal immigrants enter New York City each month.

In the first six months of 2023, over 66,000 illegal immigrants said they were heading to New York City.

The number is about 10% of the 671,721 illegal immigrants entering the country since the beginning of 2023.

To accommodate the migrants, the city may be spending upwards of $12 billion by 2025.
