"Our country is under invasion," Trump said. "Far more illegal immigrants have entered the United States in the last two years than in any time in American history and by a massive margin. We've never seen anything like it."
It is unclear how many soldiers have been deployed, as the Texas Military Department, Department of Public Safety, and Governor Greg Abbott have not responded to requests for comment.
The Supreme Court has temporarily blocked the Biden administration from ending its policy of rapidly expelling migrants at the US-Mexico border, after a request from Republican officials in 19 states.
