North Carolina's Republican-dominated General Assembly has successfully overruled a veto from Governor Roy Cooper, a Democrat, to enact legislation that severely restricts abortions beyond 12 weeks of pregnancy.
The cases, A22A0939 (Favorito et al. v. Wan et al.) and A22A1097 (Jeffords et al. v. Fulton County et al.), centered around allegations of vote dilution and violations of the Georgia Open Records Act during the 2020 presidential election.
The court ordered "that the trial court shall forthwith conduct such proceedings as appropriate to resolve" the signature verification allegations raised by Lake.
