Republican lawmakers in Kansas enacted Senate Bill 180, which defines sex in state law to mean an “individual’s biological sex, either male or female, at birth.”
"Disney was openly and legally granted a unique and special privilege, that privilege of running its own local government," former Florida Supreme Court justice Alan Lawson said. "That era is ending."
The legislation imposes a felony charge on doctors who perform sex-change surgeries on children, with penalties of up to 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.
"There is risk when we use financial sanctions that are linked to the role of the dollar that over time it could undermine the hegemony of the dollar," Yellen said, adding that implementing sanctions against Russia "does create a desire on the part of China, of Russia, of Iran to find an alternative."
