Tirien Steinbach, the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Stanford Law School, has stepped down from her position following a controversy involving a sitting federal judge.
"While Americans were enjoying hot dogs and fireworks this Fourth of July, federal Judge Terry A. Doughty commemorated Independence Day by striking a blow for the separation of big tech and state."
Bans federal agencies from engaging with social media companies "for the purpose of urging, encouraging, pressuring or inducing in any manner the removal, deletion, suppression or reduction of content containing protected free speech."
House Judiciary Committee accuses Stanford Internet Observatory of collaborating with social media companies to moderate content based on alleged mis- and disinformation, while demanding full compliance with a subpoena.
The lawsuit, filed on behalf of Health Freedom Louisiana co-director Jill Hines and The Gateway Pundit news site founder Jim Hoft, reads, "This case challenges probably the largest mass-surveillance and mass-censorship program in American history."
