Former President Donald Trump vowed to cut federal funding for schools pushing Critical Race Theory and gender ideology if he is elected president in 2024.
"There of course remains a vital role for the federal government in protecting unborn life," Trump announced. "We will bring everybody together to protect our precious unborn babies in a very, very big way."
The grants, a joint effort between Gov. Lee and the General Assembly, will fund the placement of a full-time, armed school resource officer (SRO) at every public school and implement physical security improvements at public and non-public schools across Tennessee.
Currently serving as the president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the second-largest teachers' union in the country, Weingarten was instrumental in shaping COVID policies in academic settings.
