People prosecuted for low-level felonies and misdemeanors such as trespassing and disorderly conduct for their involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, storming of the U.S. Capitol say they have been blacklisted by banks and shut out of social media fundraising services.
On Thursday, Utah Governor Spencer Cox signed two bills into law that make his state the first in the US to mandate that social media companies obtain parental consent for anyone under 18 years of age before they can use their apps.
"Powerful corporations who wield unmatched, highly concentrated technology in pursuit of profit are knowingly creating this unprecedented mental health crisis," the lawsuit asserts.
