Vaccine passport and masking requirements in New York City will be lifted on Monday, Mayor Eric Adams announced Friday, including the city's school mask mandate and vaccination requirements for restaurants, entertainment venues, and other public indoor spaces. 

New York is lifting its statewide mask mandate for schoolchildren on March 2, after months of debate and demands from New Yorkers who have been fighting for their kids’ right to attend school without wearing a face covering.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., publicly  announced Monday that the Florida National Guard would not deploy to Washington D.C. for the State of the Union address on Tuesday.

Move comes as most states have already lifted indoor mask requirements.

Masks still required in schools, places of worship, nursing facilities, childcare facilities, and libraries.

Crowds enjoyed a maskless Super Bowl at Sofi Stadium Sunday, despite the Los Angeles mask mandate that extends through Feb. 15.

Californians who are vaccinated will no longer have to wear masks inside come February 15, however the new rule will not include students and faculty at K-12 schools.
