A Democratic candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates is facing backlash after a video resurfaced showing her claiming parents were incapable of deciding the curriculum for their children.
The release came after Inner City Press requested that Judge Lewis Kaplan, who is presiding over the trial, disclose the deposition and other evidence to the public.
Devine allegedly submitted over 1,900 fraudulent petitions in an attempt to secure a spot on the 2021 Democratic gubernatorial primary ballot for candidate Lisa McCormick.
The court ordered "that the trial court shall forthwith conduct such proceedings as appropriate to resolve" the signature verification allegations raised by Lake.
"It gnaws at me that, by lending my association, I helped his reputation, and thus delayed justice for his survivors," Hoffman said. "While I relied on MIT’s endorsement, ultimately I made the mistake."
