Eviction ban expires Oct. 3, CDC announces

Video has surfaced of Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) speculating that the FBI might have known about plans for unrest at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, and allowed those events to happen. Johnson reportedly made the comments about January 6 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, a Milwaukee suburb, during a June GOP event.

A moratorium on evictions was declared by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to prevent tenants from eviction for failing to pay rent amid a raging coronavirus pandemic and financial troubles caused by lockdowns.

The nationwide pause on evictions is set to expire on Saturday after Congress failed to extend it.

U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) have been ordered to arrest visitors and staffers not wearing masks on the House side of the Capitol complex.

Capitol Police say they’ll arrest staffers who try to enter the House of Representatives without a mask, and report members who refuse to comply. Republicans have vowed to resist, calling out Speaker Pelosi’s “abuse of power.”
