White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki got a slip of the tongue after she called the situation at the border a “crisis.” On Thursday, Psaki used the term when she responded to a question about whether Mexico has any expectations on the Biden administration’s handling of the migrant surge at the border.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was recently grilled over the ongoing crisis at the southern border. While testifying before the House Homeland Security Committee Wednesday, he said the department has continued to enforce immigration laws while “restoring fairness and efficiency.”
President Joe Biden knows there is an immigration crisis at the nation's border but "thinks by staying away from it, by hiding out, that the problem will go away," House Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., said Tuesday.
