Morgan Geyser, one of the two girls convicted in the 2014 Slender Man stabbing case, has escaped from a court-ordered group home in Madison, Wisconsin. Authorities confirmed she removed her ankle monitor late Saturday and was last seen near Kroncke Drive around 8 p.m. with an unidentified adult acquaintance.
Geyser, now 23, was committed to a mental institution as a child after she and her friend Anissa Weier lured their sixth-grade classmate into the woods in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and stabbed her 19 times to appease the fictional character Slender Man. The victim, then 12, survived the attack. Geyser pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide and was committed to the Winnebago Mental Health Institute.
In January 2025, a judge approved Geyser’s conditional release into a supervised group home under strict court monitoring, including a GPS ankle bracelet. Officials now say she tampered with and removed that device before fleeing the premises. The Madison Police Department, in coordination with other agencies, has launched a full search and issued a public alert.
Geyser’s attorney, Tony Cotton, issued a statement urging her to surrender to law enforcement immediately, warning that anyone aiding her could face legal consequences. Authorities have not released the name or identity of the adult seen with her but are investigating possible assistance or intent to flee jurisdiction.
Law enforcement officials have emphasized the importance of public cooperation in locating Geyser, citing her violent history and the risk of being unsupervised. Citizens are encouraged to report any information to local authorities.
