School Board Member Resigns After Doxxing Parents Who Sued District Over Mask Mandate

  • Deranged school board member posted phone numbers and addresses of parents on social media, adding, ‘They definitely need to be called out.’
  • Parents had successfully sued district over mask rules.

A Hispanic school board member in Fort Worth, Texas, resigned after she reportedly posted the private information of parents who were suing the district over its mask policies.

After coming under fire for the doxxing, the board member, Norma Garcia-Lopez, blamed “relentless attacks” against her on “white supremacists.”

In a tweet posted by Garcia-Lopez back in August, she named several parents who were behind successful efforts to stop the Fort Worth school district’s mask mandates, claiming they exhibited “white privilege.”

She then told the Internet to “do [its] thang.”

Garcia went an extra step on Facebook and posted phone numbers and addresses of each of the parents, adding, “They definitely need to be called out.”

The Daily Mail reports Garcia-Lopez even phoned one of the parents using an anonymous number and left a voicemail saying, “F**** you, you stupid b****. F**** you with your white privilege, not caring about the well-being of others, f*** you.”

“The call was made after the parents, who had sued FWISD for a mask mandate, won the lawsuit and before Garcia-Lopez was made co-chair of the Racial Equity Committee,” the Daily Mail reports.

Confronted by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the deranged school board member defended her actions, claiming what she did wasn’t doxxing because the parents had filed a public motion in court.

“Some people consider my actions doxxing. It’s not doxxing when you expose someone who filed a public motion in a public court of law that impacts public school children,” she said.

Far from apologizing for her actions, Garcia-Lopez claimed in her resignation letter that she was resigning due to “vile and relentless attacks on me by white supremacists.”

“I am writing to inform [Fort Worth Independent School District] that it has become necessary for me to resign from my volunteer positions with the District, including as member and co-chair of the Racial Equity Committee and as a member of the Redistricting Committee,” she wrote.

“Every student in FWISD deserves equity and respect. That is my passion and reason for serving on those committees…I cannot allow the vile and relentless attacks on me by white supremacists to distract from or overshadow the continued pursuit of equity in FWISD. That work is too vital.”

Speaking to Fox News, one of the parents affected by the doxxing, real estate agent Kerri Rehmeyer, admitted she was relieved by Garcia-Lopez’s resignation, but said she was disturbed the district didn’t act against her sooner.

“Ultimately, we are relieved to hear that Norma Garcia-Lopez will no longer hold positions of influence in Fort Worth ISD, but we are disappointed by the complete lack of action by the Board of Trustees,” Rehmeyer stated.

In Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) passed an executive order barring public school districts from imposing mask mandates. Last week, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Abbott’s ban on mask mandates, saying they caused no “concrete, or actual or imminent, injury.”

The ruling essentially means any Texas school districts still requiring students to wear face masks are operating outside of the law.
