RFK Jr. Claims CIA Was Involved in Funding Wuhan Lab

Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said this week that he believes the CIA was involved with funding the COVID leak lab in Wuhan, China.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Presidential hopeful RFK Jr. said this week he believes the CIA was behind funding the Wuhan COVID-19 leak lab in China.
  • “I think the CIA was involved certainly in this research,” Kennedy claimed during an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters. “They were funding it through USAID. And NIH, I think, in the end gave about $26 million in funding to the Wuhan lab. But USAID, which was functioning as the CIA surrogate, gave over $64 million. The Pentagon also gave a lot of money.”
  • RFK Jr. also criticized former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci, saying “he caused a lot of injury.”
  • “I think that he particularly by withholding early treatment from Americans we racked up the highest death count in the world. We only have 4.2% of the globe’s population but we had 16% of the COVID deaths in this country and that was from bad policy,” he continued.
  • “If there were crimes that he committed, of course, I would tell the attorney general to prosecute him, not hold off,” Kennedy said.
  • When talking about vaccines, the presidential hopeful stated that he believes autism comes from vaccines, among other issues.
  • “But I think most of the things people believe about my opinions about vaccines are wrong. I, you know, all I have said about vaccines is we should have good science,” he said. “We should have the same kind of testing, placebo controlled trials that we have for every other medication.”
ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR. ON THE UNITED STATES LACK OF EARLY TREATMENT FOR COVID-19:

“There was countries that did the opposite of what we did that provided Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, other early treatments to their population, and had 1/200th of our death rate,” RFK Jr. said.

BACKGROUND:
  • RFK Jr. has often been at odds with the mainstream media due to his challenge of vaccine-related narratives during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Earlier last month, Kennedy was blocked on Instagram, a move that was later reversed.
  • The presidential nominee faced a previous blockage due to allegations of spreading so-called “misinformation” regarding COVID-19 and vaccines.
  • In the past, Meta had accused Kennedy of “repeatedly sharing debunked claims about the coronavirus or vaccines,” which led to the suspension.
  • Meta’s spokesperson, Andy Stone, explained the decision to reinstate his account to the Washington Post: “As he is now an active candidate for president of the United States, we have restored access to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s Instagram account.”
  • Stone then admitted to the mistake of preventing the creation of Kennedy’s campaign account, stating, “We quickly fixed the issue that prevented the campaign Instagram account from being created.”
  • However, despite the reversal on Kennedy’s personal account, Stone clarified that both Facebook and Meta would continue to uphold the ban on Kennedy’s organization, Children’s Health Defense.
