President-Elect Donald Trump and Family Arrive in Washington, D.C. Aboard Air Force One

President-elect Donald Trump, joined by First Lady Melania Trump and their son Barron, arrived in Washington, D.C., aboard Air Force One today, marking the lead-up to his historic inauguration on January 20 as the 47th President of the United States. Trump’s return signals the start of his unprecedented second, non-consecutive term in office.

Following his arrival, Trump is expected to travel to his golf club in Sterling, Virginia, where a private celebration is planned. According to Reuters, the event will feature a fireworks display and performances, including Elvis impersonator Leo Days and tenor Christopher Macchio, a frequent performer at Trump’s events.

Due to the forecasted freezing temperatures and high winds, the inaugural ceremony has been moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda, the first indoor swearing-in since President Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration in 1985. The adjusted setting underscores the administration’s priority on safety and comfort during the historic occasion.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 20s, with wind chills dropping the temperature to 12 degrees.

“January 20th cannot come fast enough! Everybody, even those that initially opposed a Victory by President Donald J. Trump and the Trump Administration, just want it to happen. It is my obligation to protect the People of our Country but, before we even begin, we have to think of the Inauguration itself,” Trump said in a statement on Truth Social. “The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows. There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way. It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!).”
