New Study Debunks Infamous Abortion Industry Myth

A new peer-reviewed examination of almost eight million pregnancies over a 15-year period debunks the abortion industry’s fictional narrative that abortion is a normal experience for mothers who already have children.

The study conducted by researchers at the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) found abortion among low-income women with children is exceedingly uncommon, if not rare

Below is one example of the abortion industry’s myth from Planned Parenthood’s own website:

“Deciding to have an abortion doesn’t mean you don’t want or love children. In fact, 6 out of 10 people who get abortions already have kids — and many of them decide to end their pregnancies so they can focus on the children they already have.”

A new peer-reviewed examination of almost eight million pregnancies over a 15-year period debunks the abortion industry’s fictional narrative that abortion is a normal experience for mothers who already have children.

The researchers also found that women in the study population almost never used abortion as a tool to space their children, proving another abortion industry myth is also false.

CLI’s paper was recently published in the international journal Health Services Research and Managerial Epidemiology.

Abortion in No Way Typical of Motherhood

The institute’s researchers conducted a retrospective, cross-sectional, and longitudinal analysis of the pregnancy outcomes experienced by 4.9 million Medicaid-enrolled women who had 7.8 million pregnancies between 1999 and 2014.  These women were at least 13 years old, had at least one identifiable pregnancy outcome, and were from the 17 states whose official policies use state taxpayer funds to pay for abortions.

“After studying the largest universe of actual pregnancy outcomes ever analyzed, our team found that abortion is in no way typical of motherhood,” Dr. James Studnicki, CLI vice president and director of data analytics, and one of the paper’s authors said.

“We didn’t sample or conduct surveys – we analyzed all recorded events. We followed the data. It is quite uncommon, if not rare, to have both births and abortions. The overwhelming number of children are born to mothers who never have an abortion,” Studnicki noted.

Other key findings from the CLI study include:

  • Women with both births and abortions have more abortions than births.  Women in the study who had both births and state-funded abortions averaged 3.2 pregnancies or more than twice the average number of pregnancies for women with “only births” or “only state-funded abortions.”
  • Abortion was rarely used to support healthy families or space out children. Abortions that could have been performed to delay a first birth (2.2%), space two births (1.0%), or end childbearing (3.0%) were rare.

This latest study expands on ongoing CLI research led by Studnicki analyzing Medicaid claims data to shed light on pregnancy outcome patterns.

As CBN News reported last month, another CLI study published online in the peer-reviewed Medical Science Monitor found 2,162,600 Medicaid beneficiaries in 17 states with state taxpayer-funded abortion reveals that “rapid repeat pregnancy” (defined as a second pregnancy within 2 years) is most common among women who have abortions.

Contrary to the narrative pushed by the abortion industry that abortion eases financial or personal problems for pregnant women, the study authored by CLI researchers suggests that a high number of women are pressured into having unwanted first-time abortions.

Data Doesn’t Lie – Most Mothers Not Undergoing Abortions

CLI President Charles A. “Chuck” Donovan said the new study reveals the abortion industry’s narrative isn’t true.

“They want to make it acceptable to target vulnerable women and children by citing estimates and surveys conducted at abortion centers to support the narrative that ‘everybody is doing it,’” he said.

“What Dr. Studnicki and his team have done is truly remarkable. This peer-reviewed research is based on nearly five million women who had nearly eight million pregnancies. By comparison, the frequently cited ‘Turnaway Study’ from the abortion industry is based on interviews with just 813 women,” Donovan continued.

“Most mothers are not undergoing abortions.  We know that instinctively. We know that based on logic. Now, we know it based on data,” he added.

The Charlotte Lozier Institute was launched in 2011 as the education and research arm of Susan B. Anthony List. CLI is a hub for research and public policy analysis on some of the most pressing issues facing the United States and nations around the world.

Swiss Police Threaten to Stop Enforcing COVID-19 Lockdowns

“You are not alone,” says an association of police officers from all the territories of Switzerland.

QUICK FACTS:
  • A group of Swiss police officers warned in a letter that lockdown measures violate fundamental human rights.
  • Members of the group said they would “no longer apply” Covid-19 lockdown measures those measures “oppose the general opinion of the population,” according to 20 Minutes, a French-language newspaper in Switzerland.
  • The group calls itself an “association of police officers from all the cantons of Switzerland” (Google translation).
WHAT THE GROUP SAID:
  • The group’s message to anti-lockdown Swiss citizens is, “You are not alone.”
  • The group created a website allowing police “to announce themselves without fear of sanctions or being put aside,” notes 20 Minutes.
  • According to the anonymous creators of the platform, the need to freely express your own opinion is “very great” among police officers.
LETTER WARNS POLICE OFFICERS “WILL NO LONGER” ENFORCE LOCKDOWNS:
  • 20 Minutes also reports the association “sent a four-page long letter to the Swiss Federation of Police Officers (FSFP).”
  • The letter criticizes current coronavirus lockdown measures.
  • It warns police officers will not enforce the measures.
  • “If the measures were to oppose the general opinion of the population, restricting their fundamental rights disproportionately, many police officers will no longer be willing to apply them,” the letter reads.”
  • The group also asks the FSFP to demand answers from Swiss officials to “unresolved questions and to clearly oppose a possible compulsory vaccination for police officers.”

‘We are Fighting for National Identity and Traditional Christianity’: Prime Minister of Hungary

“[W]e are an example that somebody or a country which is based on traditional values, on national identity, based on tradition of Christianity.”

QUICK FACTS:
  • Tucker Carlson traveled to Hungary—a small country in the middle of Central Europe—on Thursday to interview Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
  • Orbán stands against the “new society” proposed by more progressive European nations who allow migrants easier access to their lands, which Orbán characterizes as a “post-Christian, post-national” notion.
  • Orbán rejects “leftist liberal government,” believing it’s too “risky” to allow, for example, “Muslim communities,” to be “mixed up” among original inhabitants of “Christian communities.”
  • “We, Hungarians decided not to take that risk, to mix up our society,” says Orbán.
  • He characterizes Hungary as a place of “free movement” where “[t]he Christians and the conservatives try to find a better home.”
  • Carlson asks, “Why can’t we have something like that in our country?”
HUNGARY’S SUCCESS:
  • “[W]hat is going on here is building up a society,” Orbán explained to Carlson, “which is very successful, economically, politically, culturally, even in demography we have some success—family policy.”
  • “So, what you can see here could be described as a success story,” Orbán adds, going on to say that the reason for Hungary’s success is the country’s implementation of a “conservative national alternative which is more successful at everyday life at the level of them than the liberal ones.”
  • “[W]e are an example that somebody or a country which is based on traditional values, on national identity,” says Orbán, “based on tradition of Christianity could be successful or sometimes even more successful than the leftist liberal government.”
WHAT ORBÁN THINKS OF DONALD TRUMP AND THE ‘AMERICA FIRST’ MOVEMENT:
  • Orbán also admits that Donald Trump “was a great friend of Hungary,” adding that President Trump was “very much supportive to us, not just personally, but politically also, so there was a good friendship between the two countries also.”
  • The Prime Minister believes that the ‘America First’ movement “is a very positive message.”
  • He says that the America First message is positive even for Central Europe “because it means if for Donald Trump, America First; for us Hungary could be first as well, and let’s cooperate on that basis.”
  • “So that was a very good foreign policy, very effective and we cooperated very well.”
ORBÁN’S MESSAGE TO AMERICANS:
  • The Hungarian Prime Minister predicts that “sooner or later, the Americans will realize that issues in Hungary must be decided by the Hungarians, and it is better even for the leftist liberal government in the United States to have a good partner, which is a conservative Christian Democratic supported long term by the people, Hungarian people.”
  • “It’s better to have that than a government, which is supported by America and take the position, but losing after several months and creating destabilization and uncertainty.”
  • “So, not loved, but stable partner is better than the uncertain new one. That I hope the Americans will understand it,” Orbán concludes.
HOW THE EUROPEAN UNION TREATS ORBÁN:
  • Prim Minister Orbán says that in response to his country’s more Christian- and nationalist-leaning policies, the European Union (E.U.) will “attack Hungary so harshly.”
  • “[T]hat’s the reason why my personal reputation is very bad, you know, I’m treated like the black sheep of the European Union personally, and sometimes Hungary as well, unfortunately,” Orbán goes on to say.
BACKGROUND:
  • Hundreds of thousands of migrants appeared on Hungary’s southern border in 2015.
  • While many nations in the E.U., such as Angela Merkel’s Germany, allowed millions into their countries, Hungary alone said No.
  • Orbán’s decision to reject these migrants was “coming from the God, the nature, so all arguments with us because this is our country, this is our population. This is our history. This is our language, so we have to do that,” he told Carlson.
  • “This is not a human right to come here. No way, because it’s our land,” the Prime Minister went on to say. “It’s a nation, it’s a community. Families, history, tradition, language.”
  • Hungary’s next election is in April. Orbán says that although “the international left will do everything what they can do, probably even more to change the government here in Hungary,” he and his party “are aware of that and we are prepared for that, how to take the fight and fight back.”

Vax Cause of Death in 30–40% of Autopsies of Recently Vaccinated: German Chief Pathologist

Pro-Vaccine Director of the Pathological Institute at the University of Heidelberg says Covid-19 vaccine caused the death of 30—40% of those who died shortly after vaccination.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Dr. Peter Schirmacher is the chief pathologist at the University of Heidelberg, a public research university in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
  • He’s also been a member of the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina since 2012.
  • Schirmacher is head of the the university’s coronavirus autopsy research.
  • The university has conducted over 200 such autopsies.
  • Dr. Schirmacher is urging for many more autopsies of vaccinated people. according to Augsburger Allgemeine, a major German newspaper.
VACCINE AS CAUSE OF DEATH:
  • Pathologists worked with public prosecutors, the police, and resident doctors.
  • More than 40 autopsies were of those “who died within two weeks of being vaccinated.”
  • Dr. Schirmacher believes that “30 to 40 percent of them died from the vaccination,” reports Ausburger Allgemeine.
  • “In his opinion, the frequency of fatal consequences of vaccinations is underestimated,” the article notes.
SCHIRMACHER IS PRO-VACCINE:
  • Dr. Schirmacher has received the Covid-19 vaccine.
  • Ausburger Allgemeine notes that Schirmacher “does not want to spread panic.”
  • The article emphasizes the doctor “is in no way opposed to vaccinations.”
  • Dr. Schirmacher believes the “[v]accination is an essential part of the fight against the virus.”
‘FEDERAL ASSOCIATION OF GERMAN PATHOLOGISTS’ AGREES WITH SCHIRMACHER:
  • The Federal Association of German Pathologists is also pushing for more autopsies of vaccinated people, reports Ausburger Allgemeine.
  • “This is the only way to exclude or prove connections between deaths and vaccinations, says Johannes Friemann, head of the autopsy working group in the association.”
