U.N. Deliberately Excludes Israel From Gaza War Meeting, Under Pressure From Islamic States

The United Nations is facing sharp criticism after scheduling a Security Council meeting on the Gaza war during Rosh Hashanah, one of the holiest Jewish holidays. The timing effectively prevents Israeli officials from participating while the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its allies push for recognition of a Palestinian state. Sources confirmed the meeting was deliberately set on the holiday, despite multiple available dates later in the week.

The Security Council’s calendar lists a “Middle East” briefing for Tuesday afternoon, coinciding with the start of high-level debate at the U.N. General Assembly. Algeria and other OIC members reportedly pressured South Korea, the council’s current president, to lock in the controversial date. Critics say the move signals bias against Israel, with one former U.S. diplomat calling it “outright anti-Semitism.” The diplomat added, “When leaders go out of their way to exclude or single out one religious minority, that’s discrimination—and when it’s the Jewish faith that’s anti-Semitism.”

Meanwhile, several Western nations, including the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, announced joint recognition of a Palestinian state on Sunday. Israeli officials warn such actions undermine hostage negotiations. Jonathan Harounoff, spokesman for Israel’s U.N. mission, stated, “We’re seeing a lot of performative gestures and empty declarations that aren’t advancing peace—or anything in the region.”

Pro-Israel groups condemned the scheduling, arguing it deliberately silences Jewish voices. Sacha Roytman, CEO of the Combat Antisemitism Movement, declared, “By deliberately silencing Jewish voices at the very moment when decisions about Israel—the world’s only Jewish state—are being discussed, the U.N. is sending a chilling message: that Israel and the people it represents are unwelcome at the table.”

Sen. Ron Wyden’s Family Hit With Scandalous Abuse Lawsuit

A shocking lawsuit has put Sen. Ron Wyden’s (D-OR) family at the center of scandal after disturbing allegations emerged against the children of the Oregon senator and his wife, Strand Bookstore owner Nancy Bass Wyden.

According to the lawsuit filed by the widower of Brandon O’Brien, the 35-year-old assistant was relentlessly harassed by Wyden’s children while working for the family from 2022 to 2024. Court filings allege that Wyden’s then-10-year-old daughter exposed herself and made “sexually explicit” remarks, while his teenage son hurled homophobic slurs, including “[expletive]” and “zest kitten.” The boy allegedly even claimed his football team “would rape him.”

The suit describes violent behavior as well, including an incident where Bass Wyden allegedly maced her son to restrain him but accidentally hit O’Brien instead. Abuse reportedly took place in multiple locations—including Disney parks—sometimes in front of witnesses.

Despite O’Brien’s pleas, Nancy Bass Wyden allegedly did little to intervene. Instead, after he quit in September 2024, she accused him of stealing $650,000, hired a private investigator, and spread damaging rumors. O’Brien died by suicide in May 2025.

Attorneys for O’Brien’s widower condemned the treatment: “The allegations against the senator’s wife are shocking, disturbing, and cruel — no person should ever be subject to this level of harassment, much less in the workplace.”

Sen. Wyden has yet to answer for the lawsuit, but the Ron Wyden family scandal raises serious questions about the culture inside the home of one of the Senate’s most powerful Democrats.

Trump Vows US Will Defend Poland, Baltic States Against Intensifying Russian Aggression

President Trump issued a firm warning Sunday that the US defense of Poland and Baltics is non-negotiable if Russia continues its aggressive maneuvers in NATO airspace. The remarks come after a recent series of Russian incursions, including Estonia reporting three MiG-31 fighter jets entering its airspace and Poland shooting down multiple drones.

Trump, speaking to reporters on the White House lawn, said bluntly, “Yeah, I would. I would,” when asked if the United States would come to the defense of these NATO allies. On the Estonian incident, he added, “Yeah, we don’t like it.”

The warning underscores the high stakes for countries that endured decades under Soviet domination. Estonia was a Soviet republic, while Poland and the other Baltic states were satellites. All are NATO members, meaning an attack could trigger Section 5, requiring collective defense.

Trump has previously criticized NATO members for underfunding their defense commitments but has recently pushed the alliance to impose stronger sanctions on Russia. He advocates targeting countries that purchase Russian oil and cutting off Kremlin resources used to wage war in Ukraine.

The Baltic nations are urging Congress to maintain military assistance under the Baltic Security Initiative, highlighting the ongoing threat. Their joint letter requested support for funding in the 2026 Defense Appropriations Bill, stressing the strategic importance of US backing.

Ben Carson to Receive Medal of Freedom

President Trump said on Saturday that he will award Ben Carson the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

“We are going to be presenting Dr. Ben Carson with the highest civilian award and honor in our country. It’s the civilian version of the Medal of Honor, which is our highest military award. It’s the Presidential Medal of Freedom,” Trump said during an event with the Carson-founded American Cornerstone Institute.

“Congratulations, Ben,” Trump added. “He didn’t know this. He didn’t know it. I hope he’s happy.”

The American Cornerstone Institute says Carson is “ensuring there is an organization fighting for the principles that have guided him through life, and that make this country great: Faith, Liberty, Community, and Life.”

“A champion for logic and common sense solutions, Dr. Carson will always stay true to his principles and his faith, which guide ACI through this volatile time in our nation,” the ACI website states.

Carson was previously named the National Faith Advisory Board Chairman during Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. “I am honored to serve as the national faith chairman for the campaign and my friend, @realDonaldTrump,” Carson wrote on social media at the time. “It’s imperative that the faith community realizes what is at stake in this election.” He was later selected as the vice chairman of the Religious Liberty Commission.

President Trump established the Religious Liberty Commission in May, declaring that it is the “policy of the executive branch to vigorously enforce the historic and robust protections for religious liberty enshrined in Federal law.”

“The Federal Government will promote citizens’ pride in our foundational history, identify emerging threats to religious liberty, uphold Federal laws that protect all citizens’ full participation in a pluralistic democracy, and protect the free exercise of religion,” the order said.

Teen Hero’s Sacrifice in School Shooting Sparks Sainthood Cause

The story of Kendrick Castillo, the Colorado teenager who died confronting a gunman at his high school, has taken on new significance as the Catholic Church formally considers his sainthood cause. Castillo, 18, charged a shooter on May 7, 2019, giving his classmates the chance to subdue the attackers and prevent a larger massacre.

“You cannot overstate the heroism of Kendrick Castillo,” prosecutor George Brauchler said, noting how the young man’s bravery defied expectations. Castillo was shot and killed in the struggle, becoming the only fatality in the attack, while eight others were injured.

The Diocese of Colorado Springs confirmed it has received a petition to open his sainthood cause under Pope Francis’ “Offering of Life” category, recognizing those who give their lives for love of God and neighbor. Father Patrick DiLoreto explained, “He courageously threw himself at one of the school shooters without hesitation, allowing other students to follow and subdue the gunman.”

Castillo’s faith was deeply woven into his daily life. He carried a rosary, volunteered at his parish, and openly desired to live as a witness of Christ. Bishop James Golka praised testimony about him, saying, “It seems clear that Kendrick was an exceptional young man.”

As America struggles with both school shootings and increasing hostility toward Christians, Castillo’s sainthood cause reminds believers that faith and courage still shine in dark times.

Yellowstone Bear Attack Sparks Trail Closure and Renewed Safety Warnings

A hiker was mauled during a bear attack in Yellowstone National Park on the Turbid Lake Trail, forcing officials to close the area this past week. The incident marks the first bear encounter in more than four years at America’s most iconic national park.

According to the National Park Service, a 29-year-old man encountered the bear Tuesday afternoon and used bear spray to defend himself. Despite that, the animal left him with “significant injuries to his chest and left arm.” Park medics treated him before he was airlifted to a hospital. His injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Officials are still working to determine whether the attacker was a black bear or a grizzly. The hiker believed it was a black bear, but investigators noted its “behavior, size and location” suggest it could have been a grizzly. DNA testing may provide a final answer.

Despite the danger, NPS officials said the attack was likely a defensive response during a surprise encounter. As a result, “management action will not be taken against the bear.”

Still, the event serves as a reminder that nature is unforgiving. As officials warned, “all bears are potentially dangerous.” Tourists must take precautions, stay alert, and never assume safety is guaranteed in the wild.

Witness Reports New Hampshire Wedding Shooter Shouted ‘Free Palestine’ During Rampage

A shocking New Hampshire wedding shooting has ignited debate after a witness reported that the gunman shouted “Free Palestine” as he opened fire. The attack unfolded Saturday at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, turning what should have been a celebration into a nightmare.

Witness Tom Bartelson told the Associated Press that the suspect declared, “The children are safe,” and then, “Free Palestine,” before firing shots into the crowd. “Getting together for a dance for the bride and groom and then all chaos went off,” he recalled. “We heard about six shots and everybody ducked for cover and next thing you know we’re rushed into safe spots and things like that.”

Authorities identified the shooter as 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau, who is accused of killing 59-year-old Steven DeCesare and wounding two others. Attorney General John M. Formella confirmed that Nadeau faces a second-degree murder charge, noting, “Additional charges likely will be brought, including for the additional shooting victims.”

The incident highlights the growing concern over politically motivated violence. While investigators have not confirmed a motive, the words allegedly shouted during the rampage raise questions about extremist rhetoric seeping into domestic attacks. Conservatives have long warned that unchecked radicalism—whether imported or homegrown—threatens American communities and families.

200,000 Turn Out in Arizona to Honor Charlie Kirk

An estimated 200,000 people gathered Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona to honor Charlie Kirk, the Conservative activist whose life was cut short earlier this month. The stadium, which holds about 73,000, filled rapidly after doors opened at 8 a.m., with many arriving hours early from across the country. Overflow crowds streamed into adjacent venues and public viewing areas as attendees were turned away once capacity was reached.

The memorial featured tributes from prominent figures in the Republican Party. President Donald Trump described Kirk as “a patriot whose heart still had so much to give,” calling him “a martyr now for America.” Vice President J.D. Vance echoed those sentiments, saying Kirk “was murdered for speaking the truth.” Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow and newly appointed CEO of Turning Point USA, delivered a deeply emotional message of forgiveness toward her husband’s accused killer, citing her Christian faith and urging love over hate.

The event had the energy of a revival, with many attendees wearing red, white, and blue, and flag iconography prominently displayed. Leaders from across conservative politics — including Trump’s cabinet and White House staff — joined to celebrate Kirk’s legacy of faith, free speech, and activism. Speakers praised his influence among youth and in shaping conservative movements, describing him not just as a political figure but as someone whose voice connected deeply.

In addition to emotional highlights, the memorial also raised questions about how political violence and martyrdom are influencing both public sentiment and activism among conservatives. Organizers emphasized that the memorial was both a celebration of Kirk’s life and a rallying cry for continuing his mission. Attendees and speakers alike seemed to view the massive turnout as proof that his message remains a powerful force.

Taliban Rejects Call for Return of Air Base

The Taliban rejected calls for the United States to regain control of the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.

“It has been consistently communicated to the United States in all bilateral negotiations that, for the Islamic Emirate, Afghanistan’s independence and territorial integrity are of the utmost importance,” the statement read, in part. “It should be recalled that, under the Doha Agreement, the United States pledged that ‘it will not use or threaten force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Afghanistan, nor interfere in its internal affairs.’ Therefore, it is necessary that they remain faithful to their commitments.”

“Accordingly, it is once again underscored that, rather than repeating past failed approaches, a policy of realism and rationality should be adopted,” the Taliban added.

President Trump said last week that the United States is “trying” to recover U.S. Bagram Airfield from the Taliban.

“We’re trying to get it back by the way,” Trump said. “That could be a little breaking news, we’re trying to get it back because they need things from us. We want that base back. But one of the reasons we want the base is it’s an hour away from where China makes its nuclear weapons. So a lot of things are happening.”

He later declared on Truth Social that if “Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram Airbase back to those that built it, the United States of America, BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN!!!”

Earlier this year, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth opened an investigation into the Biden-era Afghanistan withdrawal, an operation that led to the deaths of 13 U.S. service members.

Maduro Appeals to Trump Amid Drug Vessel Strikes

The Venezuelan government revealed that President Nicolás Maduro sent a letter to President Donald Trump, expressing an openness to dialogue amid strikes on boats believed to be carrying drugs.

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez released the letter on September 21.

Maduro wrote in the September 5 letter that “there are many controversies regarding the relationship between the United States and Venezuela,” explaining that his regime has “observed a proliferation of disinformation.”

“In recent weeks, the false accusations of links with mafias and drug trafficking gangs by high-ranking Venezuelan authorities have dominated the news,” the letter adds. “This is the most egregious instance of disinformation against our nation, intended to justify an escalation to armed conflict that would inflict catastrophic damage across the entire continent.”

“President, I hope that together we can defeat the falsehoods that have sullied our relationship, which must be historic and peaceful, as always envisioned by our Liberator, Simón Bolivar,” Maduro wrote.

Upon sharing the letter, Rodriguez said it “reflects the irrefutable truth of Venezuela: we are a territory free of illicit activities, peaceful and secure. The military threat against Venezuela, the Caribbean, and South America must end, and the CELAC Peace Zone declaration must be respected.”

President Trump has confirmed three strikes on alleged drug-smuggling boats in the Caribbean.

“On my Orders, the Secretary of War ordered a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility,” Trump wrote on Truth Social last week. “Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking illicit narcotics, and was transiting along a known narcotrafficking passage enroute to poison Americans. The strike killed 3 male narcoterrorists aboard the vessel, which was in international waters. No U.S. Forces were harmed in this strike.”
