CDC Gives COVID Shot Decision Back to the People

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now says that each individual is responsible for choosing whether or not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Informed consent is back,” said Deputy CDC Secretary O’Neill. “CDC’s 2022 blanket recommendation for perpetual COVID-19 boosters deterred health care providers from talking about the risks and benefits of vaccination for the individual patient or parent. That changes today.”

The CDC has also recommended that children receive a standalone vaccine against chickenpox instead of one combined with measles, mumps, and rubella. The push for individual choice in vaccination “means that the clinical decision to vaccinate should be based on patient characteristics that unlike age are difficult to incorporate in recommendations, including risk factors for the underlying disease as well as the characteristics of the vaccine itself and the best available evidence of who may benefit from vaccination,” the CDC explained.

“I commend the doctors and public health experts of ACIP for educating Americans about important vaccine safety signals,” O’Neill added. “I also thank President Trump for his leadership in making sure we protect children from unintended side effects during routine immunization.”

Last month, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) unanimously urged the CDC to recommend that people receive the COVID-19 vaccine only after speaking with a health care provider.

Similarly, a presentation from the CDC Immunization Safety Office described that toddlers between the ages of 12-23 months “have increased risk of febrile seizure seven to 10 days after MMRV vaccination compared to those given separate immunization for varicella and measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR),” the Department of Health and Human Services explained at the time.

Republican Mayor Stands Strong as California Targets His City

El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells declared that the city will not “fall in line” with a lawsuit filed Friday by California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

The lawsuit surrounds the City of El Cajon’s refusal to comply with state law by sharing license plate data with federal and out-of-state law enforcement agencies. According to state law, law enforcement agencies may not share data from Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) systems, the filing argues, as the data’s use is “beyond the reach of California’s oversight and regulation.”

Wells said the is lawsuit “nothing more than a political stunt and an attempt to bully a conservative city for standing up for public safety.”

“I make no apologies for protecting our residents. The people of El Cajon expect their leaders to keep them safe, not to bow to the latest political agenda coming out of the Capitol,” the mayor added. “California’s priorities have become backwards — too often putting criminals before law-abiding citizens. I refuse to play a part in that.”

Wells reiterated the city’s value of keeping its residents safe, explaining, “Sharing information with trusted law enforcement partners is a cornerstone of effective policing, and we will not apologize for cooperating with agencies that help us catch criminals, prevent crime, and protect innocent lives. Instead of attacking cities that are doing their job, the Attorney General should focus on the growing crime, homelessness, and lawlessness plaguing our state.”

Bonta said in a statement upon filing the lawsuit that El Cajon has “knowingly and repeatedly refused to comply with state law, jeopardizing the privacy and safety of individuals in its community.”

Gun Control Advocate, Harvard Prof. Arrested Outside Synagogue on Yom Kippur, With Pellet Gun

A Harvard Law visiting professor known for his gun control advocacy was arrested Wednesday night after firing a pellet gun near a Massachusetts synagogue during Yom Kippur. The incident has drawn attention to the irony of a longtime anti-gun activist facing weapons-related charges.

Carlos Portugal Gouvea, described by Harvard Law School as a “human rights activist” who helped pass Brazil’s landmark Gun Control Act of 2003, was taken into custody after police responded to reports of gunfire near Temple Beth Zion in Brookline, Mass. Officers arrested Gouvea after a “brief physical struggle,” according to law enforcement, and later found a car with a shattered window nearby. Gouvea told police he was “using the pellet rifle to hunt rats in the area.” Authorities determined he was not targeting the synagogue.

Gouvea’s background underscores the irony of the arrest. In his home country of Brazil—where gun laws are among the strictest in the world—he co-founded Instituto Sou da Paz, which led the campaign for sweeping firearms restrictions. His group defended the law’s constitutionality in court, helping cement Brazil’s national gun registry.

Harvard confirmed Gouvea has been placed “on administrative leave as the school seeks to learn more about this matter.”

At Harvard, Gouvea has taught courses such as “Sustainable Capitalism” and “Corruption and Inequality.” He did not respond to requests from the Washington Free Beacon for comment.

Bounties Placed on Immigration Agents

Homeland Security Kristi Noem said that cartels, gangs, and terror entities have placed bounties on the heads of immigration agents.

“We have specific agents who have had bounties put out on their heads,” Noem explained on Fox & Friends. “It’s about $2,000 to kidnap them and $10,000 to kill them. They’ve released their pictures and sent them between their networks, and it’s an extremely dangerous situation.”

She noted that DHS intelligence “indicates that these people are organized, they are getting more and more people on their team as far as attacking officers, and they are making plans to ambush them and to kill them.”

“Make no mistake: This isn’t just about protesting free speech or that they don’t like that people out here are upholding the laws of our country,” Noem added. “They’re actually going out there and saying, ‘Kill these people, and we’ll give you this much money to do it.”

Breitbart reported that a banner raised by cartels threatened FBI Director Kash Patel as well as U.S. citizens living in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose areas.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said last month that ICE law enforcement agents are facing a “1,000% increase in assaults and their family members are being doxxed and targeted.” The statement came in response to a bill signed by Governor Gavin Newsom (D) prohibiting mask-wearing by ICE agents.

Attorney General Pamela Bondi recently issued a sweeping memorandum to put an end to the rise of political violence against ICE agents. The directive, sent to the FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals Service, and the director of the Executive Office of US Attorneys, instructs officers and agents to defend ICE facilities, add local law enforcement to the ICE Protection Task Force, and provide assistance to entities protecting ICE.

Anti-Israel Lobbying: Biden Officials Target Dearborn for Fundraising Push

An organization known as A New Policy Inc., an anti-Israel lobbying group, is ramping up efforts in Dearborn, Michigan—a city long viewed as a hub for anti-Israel activism—to raise money and pressure lawmakers to oppose legislation protecting Israel and Jewish students.

The organization, founded by former Biden administration officials Josh Paul and Tariq Habash, is using targeted Facebook ads to recruit Dearborn residents to fund what it calls a “professional lobbying force.” The group, according to Facebook data, has spent over $13,000 on ads accusing AIPAC of “weaponiz[ing] Jewish identity” and pushing “endless conflict.” One ad declares, “AIPAC has lobbyists. We’ve had to rely on outrage.”

Habash promoted A New Policy Inc. during a panel at the ArabCon conference in Dearborn last month, telling attendees, “There are organizations like mine, A New Policy. If you don’t know us, please you should know us.” He added that the goal is “to find levers to be able to influence members of Congress to counterbalance what the pro-Israel, pro-genocide lobby has been doing for decades.”

Dearborn, dubbed “America’s Jihad Capital,” has hosted rallies where protesters chanted “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.” Mayor Abdullah Hammoud attended one event where a local leader called Hezbollah’s chief a “hero.”

Paul, who resigned from the State Department after Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack, has since lobbied Congress against the Preventing Antisemitic Harassment on Campus Act. The group’s PAC has donated to left-wing candidates such as Rep. Summer Lee and Michigan state Rep. Donavan McKinney.

Virginia AG Nominee Threats: Jay Jones Texts Reveal Detailed Fantasies of Violent Against GOP Colleague

(Photo by Manuel Augusto Moreno/Getty Images)

Virginia Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones’s threats toward a Republican colleague have resurfaced just weeks before Election Day. In 2022, Jones “fantasized” about shooting then–House Speaker Todd Gilbert twice and wished death on Gilbert’s children, National Review reported Friday.

“Gilbert gets two bullets to the head,” Jones texted Republican delegate Carrie Coyner during a conversation about political rivals. According to the report, Jones compared Gilbert to “Hitler and Pol Pot,” adding, “Spoiler: put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst people you know and he receives both bullets every time.”

Jones’s anger reportedly stemmed from how Gilbert and other Republicans eulogized the late Democratic lawmaker Joe Johnson Jr. “If those guys die before me, I will go to their funerals to piss on their graves,” Jones wrote, saying he wanted to “send them out awash in something.” When Coyner objected, Jones “doubled down,” allegedly saying he hoped Gilbert’s wife would “watch her own child die” so her husband would change his political stance.

Coyner later condemned the comments: “Jay Jones wished violence on the children of a colleague and joked about shooting Todd Gilbert. It’s disgusting and unbecoming of any public official.”

The revelations come as Jones faces Republican incumbent Jason Miyares in Virginia’s November 4 election. Records also show Jones was convicted of reckless driving in 2022 after being clocked at 116 mph on a Virginia highway.

Steak ‘n Shake Installs American Flags at All Locations

Steak ‘n Shake announced that it is installing American flags at all of its locations across the country.

“The flag installations have begun at Steak n Shake,” the restaurant said over the weekend. “Every Steak n Shake is getting the tallest and biggest American flag that local governments will allow! Steak n Shake proudly supports American values and traditions.”

The burger chain previously moved to adopt beef tallow for frying in an effort to eliminate seed oils.

The company also drew attention after it criticized Cracker Barrel’s rebranding. “Sometimes, people want to change things just to put their own personality on things. At CB, their goal is to just delete the personality altogether.”

“Hence, the elimination of the ‘old-timer’ from the signage. Heritage is what got Cracker Barrel this far, and now the CEO wants to just scrape it all away,” the chain wrote, stating that they will “never market ourselves away from our past in a cheap effort to gain the approval of trend seekers.”

Steak ‘n Shake also raised a billboard using Cracker Barrel’s rebranded logo with the phrase, “Fire the CEO.”

“Cracker Barrel’s board has failed its shareholders. It has spent over a decade fighting with one of its largest shareholders rather than collaborating for the good of the company. CB has been at the forefront of the DEI movement at the same time it has reduced food quality and burned millions on failed acquisitions. The board apparently has more regard for DEI than ROI,” the restaurant wrote on social media.

Cracker Barrel reversed course on its shifts following widespread backlash.
