Trump Confirms CIA Presence in Venezuela

President Trump confirmed that the CIA has a presence in Venezuela amid ongoing tensions with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

“Why did you authorize the CIA to go into Venezuela?” a reporter asked Trump, to which he said there were “two reasons.”

“Number one, they have emptied their prisons into the United States of America. They came in through the border. They came in because we had an open border policy. And as soon as I heard that, ‘I said a lot of these countries’ – they’re not the only country, but they’re the worst abuser, and they’ve allowed thousands and thousands of prisoners, people from mental institutions, insane asylums – emptied out into the United States,” he explained, adding, “Many, many countries have done it also, but not like Venezuela — they were down and dirty.”

The second reason, Trump said, is drugs. “We have a lot of drugs coming in from Venezuela,” he stated.

President Trump was then asked if the CIA “has the authority to take out Maduro,” to which he said it would be a “ridiculous question” for him to answer.

“I think Venezuela is feeling heat. But I think a lot of other countries are feeling heat too,” he noted. “We’re not going to let this country, our country, be ruined because other people want to drop, as you say, ‘their worst’ — they have given us their worst. They’ve loaded up our country with prisoners, with mentally ill people that are seriously ill, criminally ill, and we’re not going to take it.”

Trump’s comments follow a recent memo sent to Congress that declared the United States is in a “non-international armed conflict” with drug cartels.

Cartels “illegally and directly cause the deaths of tens of thousands of American citizens each year,” the memo explains. “Although friendly foreign nations have made significant efforts to combat these organizations, suffering significant losses of life, these groups are now transnational and conduct ongoing attacks throughout the Western Hemisphere in the form of organized cartels. Therefore, the President determined these cartels are non-state armed groups, designated them as terrorist organizations, and determined that their actions constitute an armed attack against the United States.”

Segregated Classes Scandal: Minneapolis Schools Under Fire

Several Minneapolis public high schools are facing scrutiny for creating racially exclusive courses that ban white and Asian students, according to district documents. The segregated classes scandal, centers on “BLACK Culture – Building Lives Acquiring Cultural Knowledge,” courses open only to black male or female students. These classes fulfill elective requirements necessary for graduation, limiting other students’ access to available coursework.

South High School, the city’s oldest and largest public school, lists the courses in its 2025–2026 guide as available only to “All black male students” and “All black female students.” Roosevelt, Edison, and North high schools also offer similar programs. The courses, created through the Office of Black Student Achievement, claim to explore the “lived reality of black men in the United States” and “build a sisterhood” among black girls.

Civil rights experts say the racially restricted courses almost certainly violate federal law. “It is extremely hard to imagine how this could possibly be legal under either Title VI or Title IX,” said Dan Morenoff, executive director of the American Civil Rights Project. Attorney Jason Torchinsky added, “Clearly allowing a governmental program that is only open to individuals of a particular race is a problem under the U.S. Constitution and U.S. civil rights laws.”

The Washington Free Beacon reported that the Minneapolis Public Schools district, which received roughly $250 million in federal pandemic relief, has not commented. Despite low test scores—just 36 percent of students proficient in math—the district continues to fund the Office of Black Student Achievement with an annual budget exceeding $2 million.

‘Long Island Cold Case’ Solved After 40 Years, DNA Ties Suspect to Teen’s Brutal Murder

After four decades of heartbreak and unanswered questions, police have made a major breakthrough in a Long Island cold case murder of 16-year-old Theresa Fusco. Nassau County prosecutors announced Wednesday that Richard Bilodeau, 63, a Walmart worker, has been charged with the 1984 rape and murder of the Long Island teen—thanks to cutting-edge DNA analysis.

“I never gave up hope,” said the victim’s father, Thomas Fusco. “For me, hearing that there was someone [who took] my daughter’s life will bring closure to me and my family.”

Fusco vanished on Nov. 10, 1984, after being fired from her job at the Hot Skates rink in Lynbrook. Her body was found weeks later “buried beneath leaves in a wooded area a few blocks away,” according to Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly. Investigators said she had been raped, beaten, and strangled.

For years, three innocent men were wrongfully convicted in the case, serving up to 18 years before DNA evidence cleared them in 2003. But in 2025, investigators say science finally delivered justice.

“The DNA from that straw, Richard Bilodeau’s DNA, was a match to the sample that was taken from Theresa’s body,” Donnelly said, referring to a discarded cup retrieved by detectives. “Science and DNA evidence doesn’t lie, period.”

For the Fusco family, the arrest marks the end of a 40-year nightmare. “She lives in my heart,” her father said quietly.

Newsom’s Refusal to Follow Trump-Era Rule Costs State

The Department of Transportation pulled millions of dollars from California over the state’s refusal to comply with English language standards for commercial drivers.

“I put states on notice this summer: enforce the Trump Administration’s English language requirements or the checks stop coming,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a statement. “California is the only state in the nation that refuses to ensure big rig drivers can read our road signs and communicate with law enforcement. This is a fundamental safety issue that impacts you and your family on America’s road.”

He added that the funding is “valuable money that should be going to the great men and women in California law enforcement, who we support. Gov. Newsom’s insistence on obstructing federal law has tied my hands.”

More than $40 million in federal highway safety funding is affected. The Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) provides grants to states for “roadside inspections, traffic enforcement, safety audits of trucking companies, and public education campaigns,” USDOT explained.

Duffy previously issued a direct warning to California, Washington, and New Mexico over English-language guidelines for drivers. “States don’t get to pick and choose which federal safety rules to follow,” he said at the time. “As we saw with the horrific Florida crash that killed three, when states fail to enforce the law, they put the driving public in danger. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are taking aggressive action to close these safety gaps, hold states accountable, and make sure every commercial driver on the road is qualified to operate a 40-ton vehicle.”

‘Grizzly Bear Attack’ in Canada Leaves Two Hikers Seriously Injured on Remote Trail

A grizzly bear attack in British Columbia left two hikers seriously injured Sunday after they encountered a mother bear and her cubs near Pass Lake. Authorities say the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers of hiking in bear country.

According to the British Columbia Conservation Officer Service (COS), the pair were hiking along Farm Cabin Trail when they came across the grizzly and her two cubs. The bear charged in what investigators later determined was a defensive attack.

Both hikers were transported to a hospital and are reported to be stable and recovering. “An investigation determined the bear’s actions were defensive in nature,” COS said in a statement. “Due to the location and nature of the attack, no action will be taken against the bears.”

Officials have closed the trailhead indefinitely and issued renewed warnings for residents and visitors to remain alert in the area. COS urged hikers to make noise while on trails, heed posted warnings, and always carry bear spray that’s easily accessible.

“If planning to camp overnight, keep a clean camp by locking up food sources and storing them high off the ground and away from trees,” the agency advised.

While human encounters with grizzlies remain rare, wildlife experts stress that staying vigilant and following safety precautions can prevent future tragedies in Canada’s backcountry.

‘Dr. Antifa Fundraiser’: Rutgers Professors Help Finance Colleague’s Flight to Spain

An online is drawing scrutiny after multiple Rutgers University professors and other American academics donated thousands of dollars to far-left activist and author Mark Bray, who fled to Spain following President Donald Trump’s new crackdown on Antifa and its alleged financiers.

Bray — dubbed “Dr. Antifa” by critics — and his wife, fellow Rutgers professor Yesenia Barragan, reportedly left the U.S. “for their safety” after Trump designated Antifa a domestic terror organization. The couple’s fundraiser, launched on the platform Freefunder, has raised over $42,000 as of Wednesday, with 518 donors contributing.

Donors include several of Bray’s Rutgers colleagues: associate history professor Jamie Pietruska, assistant history professor Jack Bouchard, and history professor Aldo Lauria, among others. Retired professors Temma Kaplan and François Cornilliat also contributed, while academics from Vanderbilt University, the University of Connecticut, and Bronx Community College added donations ranging from $50 to $200.

The fundraiser description claims Bray has been “violently targeted by conservative groups” and says he and Barragan fled “to protect their family.” Bray gained notoriety for his book Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, which advocates “militant anti-fascism” and directs at least half of its proceeds to the International Anti-Fascist Defense Fund.

In a recent post on Bluesky, Bray wrote, “Only mass antifascism, legal or not, can save us.”

President Trump has called Antifa-linked radicals “a very serious left-wing terror threat,” citing violent attacks against law enforcement and immigration officials.

Army Goes Nuclear in Energy Plan

The U.S. Army said that it is launching a program to deploy nuclear reactors at bases across the country to support defense installations and missions. The plan, called the Janus Program, aims to deliver “resilient, secure, and assured energy.”

“The U.S. Army is leading the way on fielding innovative and disruptive technology,” Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll announced. “We are shredding red tape and incubating next-generation capabilities in a variety of critical sectors, including nuclear power.”

“Since the Manhattan Project, the Department of Energy and the Department of War have forged one of the defining partnerships in American history—advancing the science, engineering, and industrial capability that power our national security,” explained Energy Secretary Chris Wright. “What began as a wartime effort became the backbone of America’s peacetime strength. Under President Trump’s leadership, we’re extending that legacy through initiatives like the Janus Program, accelerating next-generation reactor deployment and strengthening the nuclear foundations of American energy and defense.”

The Janus Program will construct commercial microreactors through a milestone-based contracting model alongside the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), the Army said. These reactors will be commercially owned and operated, while the Army will provide oversight and assistance by supporting the “full uranium fuel cycle and broader nuclear supply chain, ensuring the program strengthens both defense and U.S. industrial capabilities.”

The program aligns with President Trump’s executive order, “Deploying Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technologies for National Security.” The order declared that the Trump administration will “ensure the rapid development, deployment, and use of advanced nuclear technologies to support national security objectives, such as the protection and operation of critical infrastructure, critical defense facilities, and other mission capability resources.”

Trump World Cup Threat Puts Boston on Notice Over Crime and Safety

President Donald Trump renewed his World Cup threat Wednesday, warning that Boston could lose its World Cup hosting rights if city officials fail to improve public safety. The warning came just a day after Boston Mayor Michelle Wu publicly expressed confidence that the city would retain its seven scheduled matches for next summer’s FIFA World Cup.

“Somebody said, ‘Would we think about taking the World Cup away from Boston if they don’t straighten it out?’ The answer is yes. We have the right to do that with FIFA,” Trump said during an Oval Office press conference focused on crime reduction.

The former president’s comments follow a violent incident in Boston last week, when over 100 people overtook a street and set a police car ablaze. Trump said such scenes raise serious questions about the city’s readiness to host global sporting events. “If we think there’s any reason that they’re not doing their job, we’re going to take those World Cup games and move them someplace else,” he said.

Wu dismissed the concern, saying, “Boston is honored and excited to host World Cup matches,” adding that the city looks forward to welcoming fans from around the world. Trump called Wu “radical left” but conceded, “At least she’s intelligent… some are extremely low IQ.”

FIFA has said final decisions rest with the organization, not the U.S. government. But Trump maintains he could call FIFA President Gianni Infantino directly, insisting, “He wouldn’t love to do it, but he’d do it… very easily he’d do it.”

Caught on Camera: Democrats Storm Speaker’s Office, Berate Capitol Police

Several lawmakers are under fire after Democrats storm Speaker’s office. Footage emerged showing members of Congress berating a Capitol Police officer and tampering with official signage outside House Speaker Mike Johnson’s office.

The incident occurred Tuesday night as Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Melanie Stansbury (D-NM), Nanette Barragán (D-CA), and Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) marched toward Johnson’s office chanting “swear her in.” They were joined by staffers demanding that Johnson immediately seat Grijalva, who won her special election on September 23 but has yet to be sworn in.

Video circulating online shows Jayapal and Stansbury messing with the sign outside the Speaker’s office and arguing with a Capitol Police officer who blocked their entry. The lawmakers’ protest was reportedly tied to a discharge petition seeking to force a vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files — a measure currently one vote short of passing.

Johnson condemned the outburst, calling it a “political stunt.” “They stormed my office,” he said Wednesday. “Maybe you saw some of the video online that they themselves shared or someone did. They berated a Capitol Police officer, screamed at him. He was just merely standing at his post.”

The spectacle highlights growing tensions on Capitol Hill, where Democrats’ confrontational tactics are drawing criticism for crossing lines of decorum and respect for law enforcement.

US Says ‘Hard No’ on Global Carbon Tax

The United States has taken a strong stance against a carbon tax proposed by the United Nations’ International Maritime Organization (IMO). The “Net-Zero Framework” is described as a “new set of international regulations” to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships.

If fuel intensity surpasses that of the framework, ships will “pay a price corresponding to the greenhouse gases they emit above certain thresholds,” the proposal explains.

Condemning the tax, Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote on social media, “This week, the UN is attempting to pass the first global carbon tax, which will increase energy, food, and fuel costs across the world. We will not allow the UN to tax American citizens and companies.”

He declared that under the leadership of the Trump administration, “The U.S. will be a hard NO. We call on other nations to stand alongside the United States in defense of our citizens and sovereignty.”

In a joint statement with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Rubio affirmed that the White House “unequivocally rejects this proposal before the IMO and will not tolerate any action that increases costs for our citizens, energy providers, shipping companies and their customers, or tourists.”

The statement said the tax “poses significant risks to the global economy” and subjects member states to an “unsanctioned global tax regime that levies punitive and regressive financial penalties, which could be avoided.”

Similarly, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) declared, “No taxation without representation,” noting that being taxed by the United Nations “would be far more offensive than the taxes imposed by Great Britain against the American colonies more than 250 years ago.”
