Meta Reinstates Trump to Facebook and Instagram

Former President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts have been restored, according to Meta, the company that owns and operates both social media platforms.

Trump’s suspension was put in place after the Capitol protests on Jan. 6, 2021, with the company stating that he posed a “serious risk to public safety.”

The move comes after the Big Tech platform said in a statement last month that it would reinstate the former president in the “coming weeks.”

At the time, Trump was also banned from Twitter, YouTube, and Snapchat.

Twitter has since restored Trump’s account, but the former president has not posted from the platform since his suspension.

Trump has not yet posted on any of these platforms, instead so far only using his own social media platform, Truth Social.

In his latest post, Trump referenced a new poll from Premise Data showing his 29-point lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is rumored to be running for president in 2024.
