Lawrence Jones to Temporarily Replace Tucker Carlson

Lawrence Jones, the groundbreaking 30-year-old host of “Lawrence Jones Cross Country,” is set to step into the recently vacated 8 p.m. slot on Fox News next week, according to a Page Six report.

Jones will be temporarily replacing Tucker Carlson, who recently parted ways with the right-leaning network.

A Texas native, Jones joined Fox News in December 2018, and by January 2022, he became the host of the weekend primetime program “Lawrence Jones Cross Country.”

Currently, his show draws 1 million viewers and 108,000 in the key demographic during its 10 p.m. Saturday slot, Page Six notes.

According to a media insider, Fox News is trying out a rotating list of anchors in Tucker’s spot, but the fact that they chose Jones to step up so soon after Tucker’s departure is significant.

In addition to hosting his show, Jones serves as an enterprise reporter and national correspondent for “Fox & Friends” during the week.

His passion for politics began at a young age, as he volunteered for the Obama campaign when he was just 15 years old.

Throughout his career, Jones has covered a variety of significant stories, including the Uvalde, Texas, mass shooting that claimed the lives of 19 children and two adults, the Idaho murders, nationwide protests following George Floyd’s death, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on minority communities across the United States.

It was Sean Hannity who offered Jones his first correspondent role on Fox News, paving the way for his successful career in cable news.
