The Trump-era Kennedy Center will host the world premiere of “Star Spangled Adventures: The Movie” on June 14, Flag Day, the venue announced Monday in its latest push toward faith-and-family-centered programming.
The animated feature, produced in partnership with Dr. Ben Carson’s American Cornerstone Institute, follows Liberty the Eagle through American history starting in 1775, tracing the founding ideals through to the present day. The film draws on the center’s popular “Little Patriots” educational series.
The cast includes Kirk Cameron, Kevin Sorbo as George Washington, Pat Boone as Abraham Lincoln, Gary Sinise as Robert E. Lee, Rob Schneider, Alveda King, and Dr. Carson appearing as himself.
“This continues our promise of more family-friendly show options at America’s cultural center,” said Roma Daravi, vice president of public relations for the Kennedy Center.
Carson said the film was designed to fill a gap in what children learn about America’s founding. “By honoring the courage, faith, and love of liberty that has shaped our great nation over the years, we are helping the next generation understand that freedom is not automatic, something to be understood, loved, and protected,” he said.
“As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, the Trump Kennedy Center is proud to bring families together for the premiere of ‘Star Spangled Adventures: The Movie,’ a patriotic experience the whole family can enjoy,” Daravi said.
The June premiere coincides with the country’s lead-up to its 250th anniversary celebrations in 2026. The Kennedy Center has hosted a string of patriotic and faith-based events since the administration overhauled its programming, including screenings of “King of Kings,” CBN’s “Revival Generation,” and a Christmas spectacular called “Noel: Jesus is Born!”
