Joe Biden Spent More Than a Third of 2023 on Vacation

A report from the New York Post detailed the length of time President Joe Biden spent away from the White House.

For 138 days of 2023, or 37% of the year, Biden was away at a vacation spot or retreat.

For 90 days of the year, Biden was in Delaware; for 22 days of the year, Biden was either traveling or visiting Lake Tahoe, Nantucket, or St, Croix.

In 2022, Biden was away for 38% of the year.

Deputy Press Secretary Olivia Dalton wrote in an email to the Post that Biden can work from anywhere. “Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Americans saw the President hold a slew of foreign head of state calls before announcing a deal to release hostages from Gaza the very next day. The fact is: the President works every single day of the week whether he is in Washington, Delaware, Camp David, or anywhere else — and those around him and reporters who cover him closely know that.”

Biden was greatly criticized after leaving Washington, D.C. earlier this week to travel to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands.

Representative Gary Palmer (R-AL) told Fox News, “President Biden’s entire presidency has been a vacation from reality — 760,000 illegal immigrants have been encountered at the border since October.”

“This is intentional and tells the American people everything they need to know. President Biden has no desire to stop it. He will continue to vacation while the border burns because this is the outcome he wants.”

Similarly, Republican Representative Randy Weber (TX) said, “President Biden’s dereliction of duty is on full display while he sits on the beach and ignores the thousands of illegal immigrants invading our country daily. America as we know it will be unrecognizable unless this administration comes to the table, starts enforcing the laws and stops the flow of illegal immigrants.”

The press office for Representative Wesley Hunt (R-TX) drew attention to Biden’s vacationing on X, writing, “After returning home from vacation, Joe Biden leaves for Vacation.”

American Faith previously reported that as of August 2023, Biden spent 39% of his entire presidency on vacation.

According to the Republican National Committee (RNC), since taking office, Biden has spent 360 days on vacation.

In contrast, former President Donald Trump spent 132 days away from the White House, while Barack Obama only spent 38 days of his presidency either at rental properties in Hawaii or Martha’s Vineyard.

Data from Judicial Watch revealed that funding Secret Service members on Biden’s Delaware trips from January 20, 2021, to June 4, 2021 cost taxpayers $1,125,646.50 in hotels, $10,893.40 in car rentals, $159,966.28 in air and rail travel for a total of $1,296,506.18.
